Buyer has all the power, Seller has none
Why does eBay only give a **** about the buyer?
I sell appliance parts from time to time. I have about 50% of my parts coming back open and used.
Buyers are using eBay and a GUESSING tool when TRYING to fix their appliance.
I lose money all the time cause I have to accept the return of a "open and now used part" that I can not resell.
Not really fair at all.

·1 month agothis is just a suggestion, but perhaps adding a little more parts detail to your listing and noting how the potential buyer could determine if the existing board is there problem may or may not "help"

If eBay loses a seller, buyers will simply buy a similar item from a similar seller for a similar price.
That is why eBay prioritizes buyers over sellers.

·1 month agoYep we see it daily in the mower parts business , you dont have any power on ebay you are just a bug to them . Its all about the foreign sellers selling and drop shipping knockoffs they care about thats whats keeping them going we small sellers are just a nuisance to them now

·1 month agoeBay doesn't act as judge and jury. They want buyers to keep coming back to the site because, ultimately, that's where eBay's money comes from.
Also, if the buyer filed a credit card chargeback for a "not as described" item instead of going through eBay, odds are that the buyer's credit card issuer would side with the buyer, as well. As eBay would be the one handling the chargeback (not you) and chargebacks are a drain on time, resources, and the bottom line, eBay prefers that buyers go through them instead.

·1 month agoWas the returned part actually used or just removed from the packaging? I can't understand why someone would buy a part for an appliance, install and use it, and then try to return it unless they found a cheaper part somewhere else or they buggered it up trying to fit it in the wrong machine.

They install the part, discover that the part they installed was not the problem. They then install the old part, force a return on the eBay part.
These people are unable to diagnose & trouble shoot a problem, they randomly replace parts hoping they guess correctly at some point. The same thing happens with car parts.

They use ebay to guess what part thewy need to fix the appliance. Leaving the seller to pay the cost of it
