If a buyer files a dispute, you "fix it" by accepting the dispute,m and either requesting a return for refund (or by just refunding the buyer weithout a return).
AM I THE ONE WHO LOOSES ALL THAT
Yes. Generally speaking, the seller is responsible and loses out.

Why would you think eBay should pay for an item that arrived damaged? You are the one that packed and shipped it, and no matter how well you think you might have packed it, things do happen.
I also looked at your listings. You have some nice things but the clutter going on in the background of many of the photos is very distracting. It would be better to use a white sheet to cover up a lot of that other stuff so that there is a plain white background. That way the buyer can better see exactly what they are buying without all that other stuff bombarding their vision.

·8 months agoJust looking over your Sales over the last 3 weeks or so, you really haven't Sold anything with that high of a significant value. Bunch of Garage Sale stuff you might have $5-$10 in.
Remember, if you have to Refund, you're not losing the $40 you got for that item you paid $5 for. You're only losing the $5.
Refund the Buyer. Walk away. Don't pay any extra to have the broken item sent back. Take the loss and go on about your business.

·8 months agoNo, ebay does not cover that . It is on you to package well.

·8 months agoTo toss an extra log onto the campfire, please take the buyer assessment of the quality/grade of packing with a large dose of Morton's house special.
Most buyers are very decent people that are not looking for conflict. If there is a problem/issue with an order, many want a resolution with a minimum of duress. They might be inclined to transfer the blame to a more "anonymous" party.
Further, many buyers are not sellers and would be ill-equipped to assess good packaging from the poor.
I am in no way asserting any of this is true in your case. I would, however, recommend a thorough review of all your packaging "best practices" to see if there are any areas of opportunity on your end.
Best of luck with shop & sales.

·8 months agoYes it is your responsibility for broken or damaged items, You could try to file a claim with the carrier but that's not very easy, but it is an option & worth a try.

·8 months agoFiling a claim is easy, getting them to pay the claim is the hard part.

·8 months agoOn a side note, @mike23290 , I see you have 594 listings currently. You may want to take a look at your account and see if you're being charged insertion fees on any of those. If so, it might save you money to purchase an ebay store.

·8 months agoWell, yes.
The seller has to insure packages, it's not the buyers problem. What was it and how did you pack it?

Ask the buyer for a few pictures of the item and package, then refund the buyer.
Have the buyer hang on to the item and package so it can be inspected.
You file a claim with the carrier.

·8 months agoAnd, hopefully, you'll keep in mind that you will have to refund the buyer when you receive the returned item. Getting money from a claim with the carrier comes later if at all.

In a word, yes. It's exactly as @bonanza125 stated, seller is responsible for the item arriving undamaged.

·8 months agoYes the seller is responsible for anything broken. If it's broken in package then you will have to tell the buyer to file a return case and once you receive the item back you must refund the buyer in full. If the damage was done by the carrier then you the seller must file an insurance claim.
