Buyer does not complete purchase
This is the first time this happened to me. A buyer made an offer which I accepted. I got a couple of messages from eBay that the buyer has not paid and that I could accept other offers. Now the listing just says expired. I don't know if I failed to do something or if that is just because the buyer never paid. I now cannot find the messages from eBay. Do I just pretend nothing every happened and leave the listing in place?

Your listings are set to "auto-pay". That means if the buyer sends you an offer they would be auto-billed immediately as soon as you accepted. I don't know if these sort of offers have a time limit for expiration if you don't respond within a certain time frame. Are you able to see any time stamps?
Are you sure you didn't accept a "counter offer"? If you did, those are never auto-billed. They remain for sale until someone pays for them. Unless something has changed recently, buyers don't have to pay for counter offers you accept. You can't file the unpaid item strike at all if the buyer doesn't pay for a counter offer you accepted. I guess they just expire.

I don't see anything 'Sold' that has been relisted. Are you sure you're not seeing that the 'Offer' expired?
Anyway... you can cancel an Order if your buyer hasn't paid after 96 hours from the Offer's acceptance. (I think this also applies to Offers... if I'm wrong, I'll be corrected.) It would not have benefitted you, but it would garner the deadbeat a Non-payment strike... and too many keep that buyer from trading with lots of sellers here. Your last move is to block that buyer.

OP10 months agoIn the "Offers" panel it says "Completed (1)" and status is "Expired." It's not clear to me if I let it expire or the buyer let it expire. The listing is still in place with a small red message that says, "In 1 cart."

·10 months agoThe buyer did not pay in time, so the offer is no longer valid. The item can still be purchased by anytime that wants it.

·10 months agoThe listing remained active until the buyer paid. Just that offer expired but the listing is still active and available for someone else to purchase.
The item wasn't considered sold until paid for so it wouldn't show as a sold item. You don't have to do anything and you didn't have to do anything after accepting their offer.
