Buyer didn’t pick up package, do I have to refund?
Hello all!
I have a buyer that didn’t pick up their package from the post office and it is on its way back to me. I sent two message via EBay to them telling them it was there but did not receive a response. So do I have to refund the buyer if they are not responding to me? If they ever did reach out of course I would work with them, but has anyone had a buyer just disappear?
Any advice is appreciated! Thanks!

·3 years agoHi, I also had a buyer pass before he got the box. It never came back. I only found out because his wife msg'ed me to let me know. I have no clue whatever happened to his box.

·3 years agoI would refund the purchase price MINUS the shipping. Ebay will automatically partially refund the fees back to you . Then I would save the item for a week or so. If they buyer wants it, you need to relist it and the buyer will re-buy it. IF a week has passed, block the buyer. Take new photos and relist. Add a few bucks to the starting price and hopefully they will go elsewhere.

It's up to you to decide what is owed the buyer.
To my mind, the largest refund should be the payment minus the cost of shipping minus the cost of packaging minus labour at local minimum wage per minute*minus return shipping charges if any minus eBay fees if any.
As a side thought, that exercise may tell you if your eBay business is really as profitable as you think it is.😎
*Here that would be 28c a minute.

·3 years agoI have had buyers that have passed away between the time they made a purchase and the order arrived. Things happen. I have also had sellers pass away before they could ship.
