Buyer claims watch I sold them doesn't work.
So I sold a watch to a female in South Carolina, it was a Gucci watch, that I had listed for $98. She sent me an offer for $70 and I accepted, all the watches I sell, are cleaned and new batteries are installed. When I shipped it to her it was working fine. She received it on the 23rd of June. Today she contacted me and said it doesn't work., she said it never worked.....she waited 2 weeks to tell me it didn't work. She also claimed that she bought new batteries for it and it still didn't work. I takes only one battery and special tools are needed to get the back off and also to get the back back on....without those tools there is absolutely no way she could get it off on her own...I asked her if she had replaced the battery or had a professional do it....she didn't answer the question. So then I offered to refund $25 of her purchase price to get the watch repaired....and she readily agreed. Then I went back and researched the original transaction and that was when I saw that I had already given her a $28 discount. So I messaged her that I had reconsidered the refund and for her just to send the watch back to me and I would refund the entire amount...I knew there was nothing wrong with it....Gucci watches are well made and they do not just stop working....once I got the watch back I could resell it....we were in a dialogue on the message board over the course of a half hour or so, when I asked her to return it for a full refund, she completely disappeared. I haven't heard from her since. I'll wait another day or so....but I think she was trying to shake me down, to try and get more money refunded. My question, should I report this person? She was making a false claim (unproved) and trying to elicit money from the false claim. I have blocked her from my selling account. Thanks.
