Buyer Claims Post Office Lost Package
According to the USPS and the tracking number, the package was delivered to the address the buyer supplied on eBay. The buyer claims the post office lost their package and they never received it. Is this my problem as a seller? Shouldn't I get paid? The payment is currently on hold. I have responded on eBay with the tracking number. How can I get the payment released? It has been three days. I can't seem to find the eBay policy on this particular issue.

·2 years agoIf the package shows delivered to the address the buyer had as their address you will get paid. If you need paid faster simply call ebay and talk to a rep. They have always been able to have it handled immediately. Not sure why their system is not easily able to automatically handle it, but they dont. You will need to manually add the tracking showing it was delivered. If you do not ebay will refund the buyer and your screwed

OP2 years agoI cannot seem to find a phone number to actually call eBay. Do you have it or can you tell me how to find it?
Thanks

·2 years agoThere isn't a direct number to call. You can chat or request a call back.

Generally no need to contact them for an INR situation. System is automated and talking to a rep isn't going to make your payment go through faster. Once the INR is found in your favor payment will be scheduled per usual.

·2 years agoYou have tracking confirming delivery. Once you're presented with the option to "ask eBay to step in" click on that to escalate which will result in the INR (item not received) claim closing out pretty quickly - generally within half an hour.
This is one of the few situations where sellers are covered. Sellers are not responsible for refunds when a package is successfully delivered. I'd probably send the buyer a message to try and help.
Buyer,
According to tracking [number/carrier], your package was delivered on [date]. Here are some steps you can take to try and locate the package.
1. Call your local PO and ask them to check the GPS coordinates to make sure it wasn't delivered to a neighbor.
2. If they confirm it was delivered to your address, ask them to check with the carrier to find out where the package was left. Sometimes carriers will leave packages by the garage or behind the bushes if they think it's more secure.
3. Check with other members of your household and your neighbors to see if someone else picked up the package and put it aside for you.
4. If you come to the conclusion that the package was stolen off your porch then you can file a report with the police, USPS and your homeowners insurance.
5. If theft is a pattern in your area, then look into more secure delivery options such as a box for your porch, a PO box, or having packages delivered to a friend/family member or your work address.
