Buyer claims item not delivered, tracking shows delivered 9 days ago.
A buyer has claimed they did not receive their item, although it shows it was delivered almost a week and a half ago. They said that they have reached out to their Post Office, and have 'confirmation of my contact I can provide'
I am a bit perplexed by the order overall. It was shipped to California from Missouri, but first was sent to New York, then to Massachusetts, then made a 5 day cross-country trek out to California where it took another 2 days to get delivered. The item did arrive late on the account of the whacky USPS handling, but it is showing delivered.
Not really sure how to go about handling this?

--------
I understand you are indicating you have not received your package that tracking # [NUMBER] shows as [Delivered WHERE]. Could it be possible the order was placed with an old address? From the order, your package was shipped to:
[ADDRESS]
If this is your current and correct address, then other possibilities can be it was picked up by another member of the household. I'd recommend checking to see if someone else in the house has picked up your package. You may also wish to see if a neighbor picked it up either by mistake or intentionally, thinking your package was at risk of being stolen.
Sometimes it unfortunately happens that a USPS mailperson ends up behind in their route and scans a package Delivered at the end of their shift but ends up delivering it the next day. Now, they are absolutely not supposed to do this, but it does happen, so it may arrive tomorrow or the next business day.
Next, at the time of the Delivery scan, the GPS coordinates of where it was scanned as delivered are recorded. You could take your tracking number to your local post office, and as the recipient of the package, would have the right to request they give you the coordinates of where the package was delivered. This may assist you in locating your package.
Hope that helps! -Chad R

·2 years agoDo nothing. Don't even email buyer anymore. Buyer has to open an item not received.
And then just add the tracking. Its not your problem anymore.

OP2 years agoI told them it shows delivered on the 11th. They replied saying they will send confirmation from the post office later on (not exactly sure what they mean by that, but I suppose I'll find out tonight?)
In the event that a case is opened, and closed - would the buyer be able to leave negative feedback over it? And if so, is it something I would be able to dispute with Ebay and have removed?

·2 years agoMy message would read,
"I'm sorry you have a package missing. I think maybe you've confused me with a different seller. Your purchase from me via USPS show delivery on XX/XX/2023 I hope you are able to find your other order"
No discussion about the round about route the USPS took to get there. That's beside the point.
That's what I would do. Somebody will be along shortly to tell you I'm wrong.

OP2 years agoThey didn't open a case, but messaged saying it wasn't delivered, asking me to contact them. Should I tell them that they need to open a case?

You can advise them that they are welcome to do that but eBay will close the case once you provide the tracking information showing the item as delivered. Not much detail on where exactly the item shipped to but a lot of things could have happened. They need to work this from their end with their local post office. It is possible that the PO delivered to the wrong address. It is also possible it was stolen by porch bandits. The porch thefts seem to increase this time of year.
