BUYER CLAIMS FOR REFUND - BECAUSE SHE CANT PAY THE US TARIFF FROM THE PACKAGE
Summary: frgcollective explained that they were initially informed by eBay that they were protected under the seller protection policy for a transaction disputed by a buyer who refused to pay import fees. Although they were told they won the claim, eBay refunded the buyer shortly after. frgcollective is seeking advice on similar future situations. mam98031 suggested reviewing the protection policy details, as eBay may have covered the refund without charging the seller.
Ebay has explained that i was do the right thing. I've got email "you are protected under : seller protection policy" currently in SMIR (seller make it right) until period 20th August 2026.
on 21th august 2026, i got an email that i have won this claim and funds comes to my account, but after 3 minutes Ebay suddenly refund the buyer money, while the buyer wont to pay the import fees.
And i already do appeal about this case to Ebay, but still havent response yet from Ebay.
I want asking for suggest in this community what should i do in further when i face case like this

OP2 weeks agoYessir, Last update from my case .
"We reviewed this case and decided to issue the buyer a full refund. This amount will be deducted from your account."
Today, I am filing an appeal to ebay. because customs duties are the buyer's responsibility.

·2 weeks agoYou should likely look at that email from Ebay more closely. It most likely tells you that YOU did not pay for this refund but Ebay did. That would be the part about you being protected as a seller. So try not to assume what the email says and look at it with fresh eyes. Ebay seller protection should be protecting you and it sounds like it did @frgcollective
