Buyer Cancel Because of Wrong Payment Info
A buyer cancelled their order because they put the wrong payment info. eBay now wants to charge me $22 for the promoted listing fee. Is there a way to get this waived because of the reason for the cancellation. How would I go about doing this? If I “approve and relist for FREE†it charges me $22. Thanks!

·1 year agoIf it's a General Campaign fee - that's a pay on sale model and the ad fee will be automatically credited when you accept the cancellation and refund the buyer. In my experience the ad fee credit is processed quickly almost always, but there have been a few occasions where the ad fee credit came a few days later.
If it's a Priority Campaign fee - that's a cost per click model which you pay whether the item sells or not. It's non-refundable.
Edit to add: I looked at a few of my recent cancellations and the ad fee General was credited within an hour.

The simple fact is: The sale didn't go through and you should not be charged for the promotion fee.

·1 year agoPaying for the promotion was a mistake. I have no idea if that can be corrected. But I can tell you that eBay's AI will be absolutely no help.
EDIT: I'm saying eBay already makes enough from sales and I will not pay them more for "promotions". As enticing as it is.... just say no.
