Buyer asked to cancel order, then left a bogus negative feedback
So I received my first negative feedback, which isn't the end of the world, but it's the way that it happened that's really annoyed me.
Sent out an offer less than a week ago, buyer accepts, but within minutes asks to cancel. Ok that's fine, I agreed.
Now less than a week later the buyer leaves a negative feedback saying "Seller B..S.. for 2 weeks never shipped"
Brother, what???? How can that be if the item hasn't even been up for 2 weeks even as of now lol.
I checked the buyers reviews, 100% positive but also one recent feedback of them also claimed that they threatened to leave negative review on another seller for claiming the item never arrived even though that seller said the item has shown to arrive.
Any chance eBay will side with me if I try to get that bogus feedback removed? And why can't I leave feedback back to them?

Try seller help>request to remove feedback: https://www.ebay.com/sellerhelp
If that doesn't work, go to Facebook to get it removed.

·2 years agoBuyer has to ask to cancel the sale...might be the mistake...buyer needs to do cancel before you and then you cancel because buyer ask to cancel...not in just emails...but on the item bought...
And leaving feedback quickly without working it out with the buyer first can be a mistake.
Work with the buyer before responding to feedback...a buyer can revise feedback in only 30 days.

·2 years agoYou have the ability to leave a reply to that negative FB. Be sure it's factual and professional.

·2 years agoIf the buyer asked you to cancel, and you did cancel, doesn't that mean there was no transaction and the buyer should not have been able to leave FB.

·2 years agoThat's just wrong. If someone buys something from me and messages minutes/hours later they bought by mistake, please cancel, and I cancel. It's as if nothing happened. It's not like I can leave them feedback saying they bought something and wasted my time then asked to cancel.
If the buyer asks to cancel, and the seller is within their handling time for shipping when that happens (and it wasn't as the buyer said, ... for two weeks), then the FB should be removable.
I don't think anyone who has cancelled on me has ever left me a neg, but I did get a neutral once saying transaction cancelled and I had it removed because the buyer purchased then cancelled, how does that warrant neutral feedback on my profile when all they had to do was not buy the darned thing in the first place if they didn't want it?

·2 years ago@usmnt24You could go to the ebay for business FB page and send a private message there asking them to review. In my experience, as long as the messaging was done on ebay and the buyer asked to cancel and was refunded, ebay should remove the negative. Did you cancel using the "Buyer asked to cancel" reason?
There is an option to ask for ebay to remove feedback, but I've never used it. You even gave the buyer a polite way to revise by asking if they left this feedback by mistake. Maybe they didn't see it or are the kind of person who can't admit they were wrong.
Sellers have only been allowed to send Positive feedback for years. And if you leave the positive but add a negative comment, it will be removed. Not sure if your account gets 'dinged' as well.
All your other feedback is top-rate and buyers have complimented every step of your process. It is aggravating to receive unfair and undeserved criticism.

OP2 years agoThanks for this wonderful response. And it's pretty lame the sellers can't leave negative feedback back in situations like this. Hopefully future potential buyers will look at the total feedback and my response and won't affect my account. I'm kind of over it now, but still very thrown off by that negative feedback. Like I said, I see I'm not the first person that buyer has left bogus feedback too, so who knows what's going on.
Thank you for the excellent response!

·2 years agoDon't give up, do what the other poster says and go on eBay for FB and explain they bought something and cancelled (x amount of time later) before you had a chance to ship (be sure you're within your handling time, if you're not, they might not remove it because the buyer might have a point that you waited a long time without shipping).
It should be removable as long as you're not speaking to a bot. Oh, and the buyer is not allowed to use that short form of a swear word in their FB... but tread carefully, eBay might remove the comment and let the negative stand. That has happened before.

·2 years agoOf course, eBay changed it for you. There are certain standards here of what you can use.
