bundles
Summary: bashort expressed frustration with the process of creating discount bundles. They described a system requiring a minimum discount based on the number of items and mentioned the inconvenience of having to manually opt out each listing individually. Additionally, they noted the lack of direct options to edit bundle status from the listing page and warned about sellers potentially losing money due to automatic bundle discounts applied to new listings.
I casually looked into bundles and it appears to me to be completely worthless garbage.
The way that I understand it is that you have to offer at least a 5% discount for 2, 10% for 3, 15% for 4 or more, you can not just give a discount for 2 items.
If you opt in all of your listings are opted in and you have to go to each one that you want to opt out individually.
Then to make things more confusing you can not edit the bundle status of a item from the listing itself and every new listing will be automatically included unless you opt it out from a different screen.
There are going to be sellers who are shocked when they discover that the buyer just got a $150 discount on their $1,000 item by buying $30 worth of their cheapest items

·3 weeks agoIf you sell a mix of cheap inventory and high-value items, avoid store-wide Volume Pricing completely. It is only truly "worth it" for niche sellers who deal exclusively in low-value, high-volume repeats (like socks, decals, or video games), where the margins are predictable and shipping costs scale down when items are grouped together.
Instead of opting in your entire store, you can use the eBay Marketing / Promotions Dashboard (via Seller Hub) to build targeted offers rather than store-wide ones.
