Bundle listing Restrictions Not Accurate Needs To Be Reviewed
I frequently sell items that come from the factory with a remote control included as part of the purchase. E.G. Stereo Receiver ot TV. However, when listing that same item used, often the seller does not have the remote to include with the itme. So when I want to list an item and include the remote in the title of the listing, ebay had decided that somehow this is a bundle which it clearly is not. If I were selling an item that might be purchased seprately, like a DVD player, then I would be bundling two separate items, which are originally sold separately, and including the word bundle in the title would make sense. By requiring "bundle" in the title restricts the number of characters that can be used in an already too small title line. To add "bundle" I have to leave out key selling words like "original" or "factory" or other essential listing criteria. Since it is not possible to commuicate with the "back office" personnel, expressing this simple common logic directly to the source is impossible. If no one is listening in the back office how do they ever figure out what is critical to the seller? I understand it is a security issue but algorythms can be written to fix this issue. If we can put a man on the moon we certainly can figure out how to write code to allow remotes to be included with the original item.

·1 year agoNow I wonder what happens if you try to list the title 'Such-n-Such TV No Remote' -does it pop back requiring you add 'bundle' just because the words 'TV' and 'remote' were there?

·1 year agoCouple of things before proceeding, please:
1. @soundcon are you the same person as @themurf1947 (the OP of this thread)? Any particular reason you swapped i.d.'s to make replies? It's probably going to confuse people.
2. When and how does this problem present itself? Is it when you try to hit 'List', and do you get the red banner at the top? What exactly does it say? SCREENSHOTS WOULD BE EXTREMELY HELPFUL if you can please provide any.
I have encountered rejections of listings when I forgot to fill out this or that Required Item Specific, but I have never heard of any scenario where the addition of any words are required in the title. In fact I've never heard of any title changes auto-required, whatsoever.
Not saying you're being dishonest, just trying to understand what you're seeing.

·1 year agoI do have two accounts, didn’t know I was posting from both. The exact scenario is selling an AV receiver . From the factory better quality units come with a remote control. When I put in the title anything about the remote being included, many used units are sold without a remote, I can’t list the item without including the word “bundle†in the title. I have spoken to support on two different occasions aboutvthis and actually had it escalated up as far as I could go. (Back office programmers are not permitted to speak directly to account holders these days) The said nothing can be done about it.
I understand that if I were bundling more than one item incorporating bundle in the title is a reasonable request. So if I list a car and want to say it comes with the original steering wheel I have to say I’m selling a bundle? To me this is a ridiculous policy.

·1 year agoThanks but you didn't really answer my question. When you say "I can't list the item without including the word bundle in the title" -I asked how that problem presents itself to you. Like pretend you are trying to list it right now, without the word 'bundle' in the title. What happens? And I don't mean "It won't let me". I mean WHAT DO YOU SEE EXACTLY?
And again, a screenshot would be so helpful. Do you know how to make screenshots?

·1 year agoIt's a red banner that refuses to publish unless you include the word bundle in your title.
It's quite annoying and dumb requirement.
Hits me all the time with projectors.

·1 year agoWell that was easy, thank you dear. I just couldn't picture it because I have made tons of listings of 2 or more things (that were not the same thing), and never had a problem. I especially couldn't imagine a command that you include a specific word in the title. That is nuts!
@soundcon thanks for brining up something I never heard of before, and I think you have ample reason to be p!ssed off about it. There is no logical reason why a TV and its' own remote should be considered a bundle. That word is suposed to denote when a seller put together things you normally couldn't buy together, like you said a TV and a DVD player sold together would be a bundle.
And yeah, our title character limit is small enough already.

·1 year agoYes I have tried with just remote.

·1 year agoSo if you just say "remote included" in the title ebay treats that differently? What if you just put that in the photos and description? You are selling it as a lot, sometimes I sell a bunch of things as a single lot.

·1 year agoPutting “Remote Included†triggers the “Bundle†term requirement. My issue is that I’m required to put a Totally unnecessary word in the title taking away characters that will provide a better description of the item. If I add a DVD player to a receiver, that is a bundle and I have no problem with that.

·1 year agoIt’s not a lot. It is one item that includes two parts from the factory.
