·10 months agoI collect coins also. Buffalo Nickels were minted from 1913 - 1938. My collection is about 50% complete. Most coins I buy are to fill spots in my folder and are not very valuable. It is rare to come across a valuable example. If you have a coin shop nearby you can take it to get evaluated. Some will buy less valuable coins to sell as I mentioned. I don't think it would be the worth to go through the effort of online sale.

·10 months agoBefore you can sell anything on EBAY you must register as a "seller". EBAY requires that you provide your checking account# and social security# (EBAY reports sales to IRS). Start selling on eBay | eBay
You need to do a search on EBAY for "buffalo nickel" and click on "sold items" (that will you price items sold for). Selling prices varies wildly ($3 - $145) depending on condition and what year coin was minted.

·10 months agoFor the OP:
1) Don't clean the coins.
2) Determine the date
3) Determine the mint mark, Found on the reverse of the coin at the 6:00 position
D for Denver S for San Francisco If no MM then it's Philadelphia
Do a search on ebay of SOLD listings for your date and Mint mark (If any)
Compare yours to the sold items and see if there's any value.
DON"T CLEAN OR POLISH THE COINS!
