Bottle cap - approx age?
I have a huge box of these, (100's, unused) - anyone know what era these were manufactured? Are these common, or rare? Note the flower logo...if that helps identify.

OP5 months agoHi everyone - thank you all for your ideas and input! this has at least helped me determine era, etc. and that, as near as I can tell, was a special run, coming out of CA. I have been trying to find info on why Crush co. decided to do a floral logo and for how long....but, so far, that info eludes me....

·5 months agoI had a whole box of cork-backed bottle caps, various sodas, and sold them at an antique show. People use them for crafts and projects. I too remember the cork caps.

·5 months agoMany years ago, probably in the 1960s, ladies crocheted around bottle caps, putting them together in a grape cluster configuration with crocheted leaves; this was used as a hot pad for hot bowls and dishes on a table. I used to find these every once in a while at an estate sale or garage sale. If I could peek around the crochet and see that the caps had corks and looked to be in good shape, I would cut away the crochet and just keep the bottle caps. People were more interested in buying those than in buying the hot pad.
Wonder what kind of crafts people use bottle caps for nowadays?

·5 months agoDoes anyone recall cork backings on caps? Google says cork was replaced by 1965, but I would have sworn seeing them in the late 60's ... memory is a funny thing ...

As a kid growing up in the '60s, I was an Orange Crush fan. I second what @lovefindingtreasures2 wrote, I recall the cap logo from back when pop bottles were returnable.

·5 months agoThe Crush caps I remember had a cork inner lining. These don't look like cork. Very cool item, btw. The old brown bottles might by collectable also.

·5 months agoGoogle search brought a number of these caps including some for sale here on Ebay. It says they are 1960's and made in Oakland, California. Search here on eBay for "Vintage Grape Crush Soda Pop Bottle Caps Rare with Flower Logo" and you should find some examples.
