"Boost" button on listings
Good morning,
Suddenly all of my listings have a "Boost" button. I don't promote my items nor do I have any intention of doing so. The "Boost" button is not only annoying but it makes me feel like eBay is pressuring me to promote. Is anyone else dealing with this? Can you tell me how I can remove the "Boost" button from my listings? Thanking you very much for any help you might offer.

·7 months agoYes, I am getting that too. After selling on Ebay continually for 23 years, now it is either pay them more to boost my listings, or sales drop dramatically. I went from selling 2 to 3 items a day, to now 6 in a whole week and the killer is, 0 over the week-end. It seems to me, Ebay isn't playing fair with their loyal long time sellers either.

·1 year agoI think it is a disgrace. I hope buyers understand that when they are purchasing a promoted item they are paying more for the product. I guess taking 13.6% of the sale plus a transaction fee is not earning enough dollars for Ebay. I think it is a disgrace that Ebay would shove this in my face. Ebay has no respect for sellers or buyers.

I'm a buyer here and really don't care how the seller arrived at the price. If it suits me, I buy it. 🙂

Most sellers have already figured in the discount for the offer in their item price.

I noticed the Boost button on my listings when viewing them from the main search results page earlier in the week. I ranted a bit about it in a thread here: https://community.ebay.com/t5/Selling/Geez-I-Get-It-Already-Promoted-Listings-Rant/td-p/35123428
Now, the Boost button is gone from my listings. I did not do anything to remove it, that was eBay's doing.
The only thing I can suggest is to try to ignore it.

·11 months agoI suspect if ebay is able to remove the boost button without you formally contacting them , then they watch these message boards quite closely ... I too am frustrated that after months of good sales suddenly nothing , crickets , I mean like not a sale at all ....Until I promoted my listings ... This is not right , when does 14% of a sale not be enough profit ?? after you do the promoted sales you loose another 10% !!! my markup is only 30% , how is it that ebay can make more than I do on a sale and they didn't need to purchase anything , or ship anything ...Its just not right .. I also see where folks say theu can not find their listings , I have also been unable to find my listings , in fact I can find them better with a google search than ebays search ... This is not right !! Every seller should have equal visibility when selling , no one should be favored above others ..
I mean gosh they made 10 BILLION dollars last year !! I would think that they would want to make more just by being fair with all sellers .. And last but not least , how many words do you need to describe a product ?
I see sellers using 1000 or more words that have nothing to do with what they are selling , but it makes their products come up in just about any search .. I have reported it to ebay many times flagging items that had keyword spamming in them and they do nothing ...I am concerned because this makes ebay a second class selling platform .. if people can't sell items or find items , they will go else where ...

·1 year agoeBay pressures everyone to promote. You aren’t being singled out. It is fairly easy to just ignore it – you shouldn’t feel pressured by a webpage.

·1 year agoOf course not. Just like when you go to 'ship' something over $100, the 'buy insurance' now comes up.
Anything to make a buck and this site, like ANY other site, is ALWAYS going to PUSH you to give them MORE of your $$.
I would FIRE any leader of any of these companies that did NOT try to do that.
