Bold & Subtitle Fees
I like to include subtitles in my listings and I was curious if the $2.00 fee is charged with every transaction on the item thats sold. im selling an item that I have multiple quanities of, am I getting charged that $2.00 with every purchase or is it a one time fee when creating the listing?

I once posted a subtitle in a foreign language and to my surprise the listing drew a lot more attention than it otherwise would have; the item sold in a few hours.

How would you know or prove that when you only listed one item???
Had an item or two without any subtitle that sold with in less than a minute of listing it - all done in Americanese - we actually don't speak or write in English e.g. an 18 wheeler (in the US) in England it is called a lorry - Lorry is a girls name in the US.

·2 years agoIt was a foreign language dictionary. I had several such dictionaries (all different foreign languages) listed at one time, but as an experiment added a subtitle to this one particular listing in Farsi if I remember correctly.
I cannot "prove" that the subtitle made the difference, but the listing with the subtitle attracted far more views than the other dictionaries.
The broader point is the silliness of these nonsensical proclamations.
"Waste of money." "eBay sucks." etc., etc..

·2 years agoIn a nut shell if you can't prove or validate that the subtitle made a difference then it hard to make a positive claim it was the reason for buying. You had the opportunity to ask the buyer if the subtitle was the reason they bought your item or was it simply just because they wanted that item at your price? Me thinks, from what you stated 8 bits. went down the drain.

2.) you are correct, the 'nonsensical proclamations' SHOULD state "90% of the time xxx' since these 'nonsensical proclamations' are from sellers that have been selling here for well over a decade (many since the late 90's when ebay started) and...again, are trying to 'answer' the OP and what THEY are doing is 100% correct- a HUGE waste of money. But, advice is just that; advice.

·2 years agoYou are wasting your money, your subtitle is redundant - the same info is repeated in the text just a few lines below the headline. Be pithy (brief and to the point) people don't or don't want to read thru excess info.

You pay the $2.00 fee each time you list a listing or if it is a fixed price and it relists automatically in 30 days.
But I must ask. Why do you feel you have to use subtitles?
It appears to me that you are paying for this subtitle and repeating things in your title and other things that are NOT important to be in the title area. The item being new is stated elsewhere that the buyer can easily see. As is your Free shipping. No need to PAY to say you are TRS. Your handling time is stated on the shipping page.
Seems to me that you are simply wasting your money. What you are using in your subtitle is not something a buyer will search by.
Why do you feel it is doing something for you?

·2 years agoIt's a listing fee, not a selling fee. It is charged when the listing goes live, and also every time you relist and each month when a fixed price listing rolls over. The number of items offered or sold doesn't matter.
