Blocking someone, current offer
Okay so I used the send offer feature and had someone that received the offer send me a rude and completely false message. Sounds a little unhinged to be honest.
I blocked them but can they still accept the offer that was sent before they were blocked?

I know this one … yes.
The answer is yes, said person can still purchase this item even though you have blocked them.
I learned this one a couple years ago now. Sent offers, immediately after a person who received this offer started messaging, giving me those “oh, I don’t want to sell to this person vibeâ€, then after checking their feedback, my gut was right, so I blocked them.
Later that day, even though they were blocked, they purchased the jeans. So yes, a blocked buyer can purchase if they were sent an offer before they were blocked.
What you can do to prevent person from buying (though it doesn’t sound like that will actually happen), is end the item. Give it a few, then do a relist or sell similar and your problem, solved.

·8 months ago@momtoabeautifuldaughter IDk why this took so many weird twists & turns. Your OP was very clear & it was clear you were the seller & sending offers. The answer to your question is no. Though I wouldn't worry about it anyway, they're not going to malicious buy. If it's any consolation, I just got one of those yesterday. Not as unhinged as yours. They are VERY few & far between. I think I got 2 all of last year. Started early this year I guess LOL.

·8 months agoBlocking a buyer on eBay does not invalidate any prior offers made to them. Once a buyer is blocked, they are prevented from placing any bids or making any purchases from the seller's listings. This means that any offers made to them before they were blocked will still be valid and can be accepted by the seller. Blocking a buyer is a way to prevent them from interfering with the seller's listings and transactions, but it does not affect the status of any offers made to them prior to the blocking.

OP8 months agoI sent automatic offers on an item I had for sale. Brand new item.
Someone sent a message saying "Why would I want this stupid item?"
I said "I have automatic offers set up "
They write back and said "You are lying, I wasn't interested in this item and no one probably wants your dumb item so you need to just remove it."
I said "I'm sorry but the offers are automatic"
They said "I am going to report you to eBay for harassing people with your dumb offers."
I blocked them so they couldn't buy from me. I was asking if they can still accept the offer.

·8 months agoThat was a little uncalled for...
they could have just declined the offer and gone on their way

OP8 months agoThat's what I thought too, that is why I asked if they can still accept offer or when I blocked them if that kind of ends it.
I understand though that even viewing an item can sometimes trigger an offer I think?
Anyway, I looked at their feedback left and it's kind of unhinged so kind of glad they outed themselves so I could block them.

·8 months agoI’ll give them a tiny amount of leeway in that if they have no clue how the offer system works, they may have thought they were being spammed with an unsolicited offer, rather than them having a poor memory.
But the actual message is absurd, and even sending a message about that is nonsensical.

OP8 months agoThat could be true. I have had messages that simply said I'm not interested in this item but never a rant like this.

·8 months agoI really wish eBay would roll back sending offers to someone that just views something. It doesn’t seem to be popular with buyers or sellers.

·8 months agoI'm not even sure how the offer system works...
but from listening in here, sometimes,
I feel it has some "flaws".
one would be the offers to people just looking that was mentioned.
I probably wouldn't stress over it too much longer...
I thought your original post clarified the person can't accept the offer.
Just a bad incident.

·8 months agoIt could have been your competitor who viewed your item (but did not "watch" the item).
Or just a rude person who viewed the item and forgot they viewed it.
I would end the listing and restart it as you have blocked the buyer as jonathanbrightlight said to avoid any chance the block did not work due to prior messaging.

·8 months agoThat sounds like it would be extremely weird if they accepted that offer...
I hope not.
but I don't know exactly the exchanges you've had with them.

·8 months agoI believe, if they are blocked, they cannot accept and pay for an open offer. Depending on the item, you could consider ending it and relisting it to end the open offer and clear it out, though.

·8 months agoI think the OP is the prospective buyer who sent the offer...

·8 months agoIf so, I bet Seller blocked OP here at same time they sent rude message, before OP did a teet for tat and blocked Seller (??) themselves.
le-5262
·8 months agoThat's always a possibility.
I still wanna know what exchanges were...
it sounds really aggressive lol
I'm curious to know what triggered the whole ordeal.

OP8 months agoWhat in the world are you talking about?
I'm the SELLER.......
I sent offers on watched items and one of the people who received the offer sent a rude message and I blocked them. I was asking if they can still accept the offer.

OP8 months agoHuh? I'm the SELLER
I sent offers on watched items and one of the people who received the offer sent a rude message so I blocked them and I was asking if they can still accept the sent offer........

I was somehow unable to "connect the dots" until I heard more details
That's PROBABLY why you are a mentor
