Blocked buyer list can't be updated
I was trying to add a buyer to the list and got an error message "Invalid User or User not found." Even if I submitted without adding the new buyer (deleted what I think is the oldest blocked ID), I got the same message. It seems to me eBay does not auto update the blocked list by removing deactivated account or changed IDs. I am not going through 200 or so blocked buyer IDs to find out which one is now invalid.
Any idea? The ID I am trying to block is active, I copied the ID to be sure I didn't misspell the ID.

·1 year agoMake sure you are actually adding the username, not the store name which may now appear in the listing where the username used to appear. Copy the username directly from the feedback page, be sure you are not including any extra leading or trailing characters or spaces.

·1 year agoOne would assume the seller is looking at either a message or an order since it's the blocked buyer list, but indeed it's possible if that buyer is also a seller the seller could be looking at a listing and copying the store ID without realizing it. Good tip.

·1 year agoYou get 5000. I've had errors 100's of times and EVERY time it's a 'typo' on my part (a "j' looks like an "i"; an O (oh) is different than a 0 (zero), buyer has an 'underscore' somewhere that you didn't/can't see when inputting etc.)

OP1 year agoI did check, I didn't see any "@deleted", it just said invalid user. I did copy and past, and all user IDs are separated with a comma and a space. Maybe I have too many blocked buyers?

·1 year agoWhen you copy/pasted the ID, did you grab just the ID or did you accidentally grab the feedback count along with it?
When you click 'see all' does it show you the ID that was invalid and did you compare that to the buyer's ID?

·1 year agoHi @cloudy_mountain . Several possibilities here:
1. You forgot to add a comma and space after the last ID before adding the new one.
YES: buyer1, buyer2, buyer3
NO: buyer1, buyer2 buyer3
NO: buyer1, buyer2,buyer3
NO: buyer1, buyer2buyer3
2. There is a typo. I suggest copy/pasting the ID instead of manually typing.
3. When an ID on your list is no longer registered (NARU) it will show a random string of characters followed by @deleted. Ex: 98sdfhr098@deleted
When you add a new name to your list and the list already contains a NARU ID what will happen is the new ID is successfully added to your list, but the NARU ID will trigger an error message (pictured below) letting you know that specific ID could not be added (technically not 'added' but rather 'updated' since the ID was already on the list).
The error applies to the NARU IDs, but a lot of people get confused and think it applies to the new ID.
When you click "see all" next to that message, you will only see the NARU IDs, not the ID that was newly successfully added.
If you had a typo on the new ID, then the invalid new ID you typed will appear on the "see all" link.
Hope that helps.

·1 year agoMost times when I get this error, I look at my list & it was added.

·1 year agoMe too.
I add it at the bottom of the list and it ends up somewhere in the middle (alphabetically).

·1 year agoI see that too. The error messages usually refer to other IDs for members that are no longer on Ebay at all and will be completely removed from your BBL as a result. Although the error message appears the BBL does get updated.
I generally just hang the new additions at the end of the list - the comma and/or space IS important for separating the new ID(s) from the existing ones - and then they will get into alphabetical order automatically once you save the list.

·1 year agoThis is a known glitch. But it is does have a workaround.
Log out. Log back in.
Go to BBL
Add the ID you want to block at the beginning of the list. Make sure you add a comma and a space.
If this does not work…
Try adding ID at random spot on your list.
The comma and space is important.
Don’t worry about the deleted IDs…they do eventually fall off after a period of time.
