Bidding scam , fake bidding to reduce price
Hello , I don't know how long this been going on or if its a new type of loophole/scam but I caught it right away and Ebay won't help me out ,
So I have an auction going and buyers are bidding back and forth normal with 3 days left on listing , now with one day left for the auction to end I received a message from Ebay saying a bidder retracted or canceled a bid and the reason he said he retracted was that he put the wrong amount but this retraction brought my auction way low on the price with only 1 day left , the amount went from 375 to 280 and that just didn't look right, because the bids I was receiving weren't to far apart because I was hearing the notifications on my phone but I was just looking at the amount and it was 5 dollars at a time but didn't realize that it was one bidder up bidding himself to for the price go high and other bidders won't bid but then this bidder cancel his bid which brought the price down cheap and landed on the next bid down that I believe it's the same person trying to win with this loophole, now I called Ebay and they agreed that one of the accounts that was doing this has no purchase history and that is a high possibility that it could be a scammer but with all this the only solution that they could come up with is that I let the auction to end and cancel it and repost it which is a totally waste of time and an inconvenience for me or let the auction to end and offer the item to the next one down bidder and I end up loosing potential profit , what do you guys think? Have this happened to anyone?
