Being Scammed by Buyer: Immediately Requesting a Return Based on Condition with Fake Photo
I sold a rare out of print DVD that was in perfect condition. It arrived in the mail today and the buyer is immediately requesting a return based on condition. He posted a picture of a badly scuffed and obviously rotted, deteriorating disc that must have been left in the sun for some time. (I am not even sure it is the disc in question.) I know for a fact that my item was in perfect condition. I played it myself before shipping it as I do all my items. I am certain that I am being scammed. Do I have any recourse here? It seems like my only options are to give a full or partial refund. Don't my years of selling high quality items count for anything?
I don't want to take a return if he is sending me back his own poorly treated copy. Or is this just a bluff? I am not a professional seller--just small player looking to offset the costs of his hobby.

·1 year agoEBAY 30-Day Money Back Guarantee (supersedes "no returns" policy) and allows customer to lie and claim anything. EBAY does NOT require customer to prove their claims. EBAY will force you to refund (purchase price + shipping BOTH ways). EBAY always rules in favor of the customer even if they return a "box of rocks".
Sorry but these are EBAY's rules.

·1 year agoReturn for a refund, or let them keep it, and refund them.
You will pay return shipping if they file not as described, so look at the costs associated with getting it back or simply letting them keep it.
