Be careful sending sensitive documents for Liberis funding offers
Summary: goto_272 shared a cautionary experience regarding a Liberis funding offer, where they were asked to email sensitive documents, including a driver's license and Social Security Number. They opted not to proceed due to security concerns and advise other sellers to inquire about secure methods for document submission. mam98031 agreed, emphasizing the risks of sending sensitive information via email.
Just wanted to give other eBay sellers a heads-up about my experience with a Liberis funding offer.
During the verification process, I was asked to provide a clear picture of the back of my driver's license and a document showing my Social Security Number.
I asked how I was supposed to submit these documents, and Liberis support responded in writing that I could simply attach both images by replying to the same email thread.
I'm personally not comfortable emailing images containing that much sensitive identifying information. Security experts routinely recommend using secure methods for transmitting highly sensitive personal information.
I decided the funding offer wasn't worth it for me and did not send the documents.
I'm posting this so other sellers who receive a Liberis offer know what I encountered and can make their own decision. If you're asked for sensitive documents, I would recommend asking whether a secure upload portal or other protected submission method is available before emailing anything.

·3 weeks agoThat is very odd indeed. Your instincts are absolutely correct. NEVER EVER send financial or sensitive information via an email. And anyone that says you can do that safely simply doesn't know what they are talking about.
