BBL curiosity
Summary: kabilab inquired about what a prospective buyer on a BBL (Blocked Buyers List) sees when they click on an item. inhawaii explained that they can view the item but cannot bid or buy, receiving an error message indicating they are blocked. chapeau-noir humorously shared a rejected suggestion about a more dramatic notification method. gurlcat noted frustration with platforms allowing blocked buyers to view listings, speculating this could lead to attempts to bypass restrictions. There were also humorous exchanges between participants about the nature of such blocking messages.
When a prospective buyer, who has been placed on a BBL, clicks an item, what specifically do they see?

路1 month ago 路 EditedI've always found it kinda messed up that eBay allows them to even see the listings of a seller who has blocked them. If they try to bid/buy and get that rather blunt message, okay probably the vast majority of them just say a cuss word and move on, but I bet there's a minority who will use another account to retaliate. Or at the very least they'd know they could get past the block with another account.
I would much rather they be blissfully unaware of me and my stuff.

路1 month agoUnfortunately, my suggestion that a hand leaps out from the individual's device and smacks them on the nose with a rolled up newspaper was rejected.
