B
I recently sold a new with tag pair of pants and buyer said they have an odor of mildew. She said, “ they gad to be stored somewhere to smell like that.†I told her the pants were in a properly ventilated room on a rack. She bought them for a friend and her friend agreed wit her. I offered to refund if she wanted to send them back. She said her friend didn’t want them and she was going to contact EBay. I told her to do whatever she feels is necessary.
Now she says she’s in a quandary as her friend doesn’t want to try washing them, saying it wouldn’t help anyway. I only received $11.33 for a pair of new w/tag $89 pants.

Sounds to me like your buyer is fishing for a partial refund.
Stand firm with your offer to return and refund.
If your buyer comes out and asks for a partial refund, report to eBay.
That is against eBay policy.

·9 months ago@lucyswoohoo sounds like she wants to keep the pants and for u to give a full refund. i would keep repeating the same thing, for her to open a return item case and once u receive the pants back in the same condition as sent, u will refund her.
why is your title B?

·9 months agoI would tell the buyer to request an item not as described return, accept that return and refund on receipt.
I would never tell a buyer to wash an item, new or used.
I would never argue with the buyer. The price you received is irrelevant as is the price on the tag.
Returns happen. Might happen more frequently to a seller who sells both used and new clothing depending on how they source.

·9 months agoTell her you're sorry and to open a return with ebay. If she wants a refund, she needs to open a return request and send them back. She probably sees that you have a "NO returns" policy and is trying to figure out what to do.
Unfortunately, in this case, if you want the item back, you will have to pay for return shipping.
If I were you, I would re-think your "NO returns" policy. Instead, you could offer "buyer pays" returns, and the buyer would have to pay for any remorse returns (you'd still have to pay for Item Not as Described, Damaged, etc.)

·9 months agoShe won't send them back for a refund, but she'll contact ebay.... for what? To get a refund?
What advice are you looking for here?
