Auto Price Reduction Not Saved On Listing Renewal
I recently set auto price reduction on all of my listings I've been making, hundreds of them. I just noticed the setting does not carry over to the renewed listing when they auto renewed every 30 days. This feature is essentially useless if it disappears upon renewal. How do I fix this? I'd hate to have to go back to manually reducing prices on a regular basis.
Thanks,
Rob

·8 months agoSo, I wrote my own software and it works fantastic. It is a Windows Executable, is licensed for 1 year, and doesnt, care how many items you have in inventory. I now use the Windows "AT" scheduler and it runs every day. I can set it up to reprice on all kinds of conditions: Title, Condition, Store Category, eBay Category, Days Listed, Condition to include everything above or below a condition, Current Price to incude ranges, Shipping type, handling, weight, and can even set not to increase or decrease based on the last time it was updated. I am very happy with it and will offer it on eBay and other sites. Took me weeks to get it working perfectly. I am now going to start adding other features for a Pro or V.2 Edition.

·8 months agoDoes anyone know why this happened? I loved this feature! And I'm surprised we haven't had an official Ebay announcement/message. (or I've missed it)

·8 months agoA post (link) by one of the eBay Mentors confirms this feature was discontinued.
If you have an eBay Store, make use of discounts manager and run sales instead.

·8 months agoThank you for the information. I'm sad to see the feature go, I had invested many hours into making it work.

·8 months agoYes, nothing like implementing a feature strategy to have it ripped out without even a word. That's OK. Necessity breeds invention and I wrote my own software to do this, and mine has 12 more attributes to boot.

·8 months agoMy apologies @suprant @billk21093 @globalmediaoutlet .
It turns out that mentor's post was not based on a confirmation from eBay as originally thought.
Auto Price Reduction feature missing is a technical error that eBay is working to resolve. For more information and updates, please follow this post on the tech issues board.

·8 months agoThis should be the final update @suprant @billk21093 @globalmediaoutlet - we finally got confirmation from eBay on what's going on. The Auto Price Reduction tool has not been discontinued, but its use has been targeted as (in my opinion) it should have been from the start. You can read more on the thread linked in my last post.
The tool is available exclusively through the simple listing tool for newbies/casual sellers; it is not available through the business listing tool. The simple listing tool is very limited and not the right fit for everyone. If you use Seller Hub you cannot access the simple listing tool.
Newbie/hobby sellers using the simple listing tool can access the Auto Price Reduction feature, and those with more experience using the business listing tool should know how to price their items correctly from the start and not need to lean on Auto Price Reduction.
eBay has many tools for advanced users such as Product Research to figure out pricing, they have Seller Initiated Offers for sellers wanting to offer discounts to interested buyers, and they have Discounts with a Store subscription where sellers can make use of coupons, order discounts, sales, and more.

·8 months agoNope. eBay has no valid reason fo offering a tool, then without warning taking it away. My listers were relying on this as part of their listing template, and now it is gone. I wrote my own software to replace it, and mine works better. However, i am very sick of eBay over the years doing this to Sellers without warning. I am now taking all of my focus that I used to put into eBay, and now I am focussing only on other selling venues, there's at least 8 others we use. I cannot waste time setting up my employees for success only to have crap like this put a bolo around a running and successfull strategy. I pull all promotions, no need to give eBay even more money for less support.

·8 months agoThis feature disappeared today for me. I have thousands of items I relied on this for, have no automated way of applying it or removing it. I cannot add it to any new or existing listing not already included. This is horrible! Not a word from eBay either.
