Auto free relist of auctions
Was scheduling some unsold and noticed this at the top of the drop down list:
"Auto Relist"
It has probably been there for years but I never noticed it before.
"Automatically relist these items [auctions] up to 8 times if they don’t sell. No ... fees for each relist." - OK, so it doesn't count against the 250 a month deal - that's good plus -
"... If your item doesn’t sell after 8 relists, it will appear in your unsold items." - it's treated like any auction that ends without selling. - Also good.
Is there anything I'm missing?

·9 months agoLook at the little pop out statement. It says "up to 8 times".
I always use the Auto Relist function and sometime I get the 8 relists and sometime not. eBay will stop the relist function at their discretion. I am not sure how it relates to being a new or occasional seller, but when I am offered the 8 relists sometimes they turn mine off at 4 relists other times I will get the 8 relist.
Since June, on my other account, I start off everything as a auction. I start them off at below market and after the 9 weeks if not sold then I convert them to Buy It Now. This has been very successful for myself but it really depends on what you are selling if auctions will work well.
It has happened that when they reset additional people look at them and I will get a bid on something.

·9 months agoI've seen several reseller videos that suggest to end the listing and then Sell Similar. While it does automatically relist and keep your total number of free listings down, it doesn't count toward new listings. And that's what the algorithm is looking for. I'm currently trying it both ways (auto-relist vs end and sell similar) to see if it actually makes a difference. Of course, I only have about 40 items listed, so I'm no where near bumping up against the 250/month. I'm curious what other sellers think.

·9 months agoWhat do you mean by "it doesn't count toward new listings"? If you mean your allotment of 250 a month, it does indeed count towards that to my knowledge, but if you mean in terms of visibility and search rankings, that's never been conclusive from what I've seen.

·9 months agoTake advantage of it while it lasts...though I have found that if an auction doesn't attract many views or watchers the first couple of times, it's probably not going to get a bid after that.
But, yes, you can get two months of visibility for the use of only one of your free listings.
