Authenticity Guarantee - Apparel
Summary: adamcartwright is assisting a friend with listing designer items and is trying to find a specific list of designers eligible for eBay's Authenticity Guarantee (AG). They mention encountering confusion as some designers like Galliano appear under AG despite the official page only listing categories and not specific designers. 12345jamesstamps warns about potential issues with listing certain designers due to restrictions or hits from companies. caldreamer notes that eBay used to have a list of designer labels covered by AG but now only refers to the price and eligibility without specifics, suggesting eBay might be keeping this information private.
Helping a friend list some designer items, so I'm looking for the list of designers eligible for the AG.
Here is the page stating which categories are eligible for the AG.
https://www.ebay.com/authenticity-guarantee
The only categories listed are: Sneakers, Handbags, Watches, Jewelry, Streetwear, Trading Cards, and Coins.
If I run a search for a designer, say Galliano, and filter by AG, there are many Galliano listings with the AG.
But where is the page specifying which designers are eligible?
I helped her with a Dolce & Gabbana listing a couple months ago, and I could have sworn there was a page with a list of designers.
What am I missing here?

·2 weeks agoEBAY used to have a complete list of designer labels that were covered by AG. Now it just says "if item priced over $200 and eligible" then AG will be offered. I guess BAY wants to keep that a big secret.

OP2 weeks agoWhat made me look in the first place was checking comps and noticed a designer gown listing priced at thousands that did not have the AG, so I was trying to figure out why it wasn't covered. I suppose it's a guessing game.

·2 weeks agoNot sure where that is but be careful of some 'designers' as to listing them.
A seller can get a 'hit' from the company as to it cannot be listed on eBay.
Just like the 'Stanley cups' are not allowed to be sold here are eBay and it's like Russian Roulette whether ai spots it or not.

OP2 weeks agoThese are all used garments, but you're right about listing many of these brands as NWT, and I don't do it.
