Aussie Buyer Can't Complete Purchase
I have a potential buyer in Australia who claims Ebay will not allow a purchase of some rock climbing magazines. He is getting a red warning that "Unfortunately, this item can not be shipped to Australia". When I look at the listing it shows that it is eligible for EIS as are all my listings. Is there a current issue with shipping to Down Under?

OP1 year agoI originally started this thread over a week ago. I finally found a work around to whatever was preventing my listing to allow for international shipping via EIS. I simply created a new listing with a greatly reduced title, no book titles, just "rock climbing guides". Perhaps Ebay knew that in my youth I got rather inebriated up in the hills around Squamish more than once and wished to admonish me. Why my original title triggered something in the belly of Ebay to prevent EIS is beyond my understanding. It is not like I am a beginner here and I did try countless variations over the past week before I got this to work. But I post this for others who might be in the same predicament.

·1 year agoIf listings are set up to ship by EIS there should be no reason to create a combined listing. The ability to combine purchases was added to EIS about a year ago.

·1 year agoMy understanding is that combined shipping doesn’t work particularly well with eIS.

·1 year agoOnly United States shipping is selectable, no other countries listed. It is in a category that should be fine for export, if it were under mountaineering equipment or such there might be a biosecurity/quarantine issue (Australia is super strict about dirt on shoes and equipment bringing in contaminants etc.)
The listing is a bit confusing, I'd note in the title there are 2 books (one for Squamish and one for Mt Challenger) and/or have the first photo with them both side by side, reading the title I thought it was just 1 book. The condition is also listed as Like New, the second book has some creases and stains as noted in the pictures. I'd change the condition and note the flaws of the second book.

OP1 year agoThis is a private listing for a buyer who wanted me to combine two listings into one. The buyer has seen each original listing and has no confusion about the books and their condition.

·1 year agoIs this potential buyer using a post office box for delivery? eIS doesn't deliver to PO boxes and if the buyer tries to use one, they get the error message that your customer is seeing.

·1 year agoI see it only shipping to the US. Try revising the listing and see if you can change it.

OP1 year agoI am confused. I see it as being eligible for EIS as are all my listings. I don't see the update tab that you are showing me.

·1 year agoYou need to view the listing page the way a buyer would. This is what I see for shipping info when the shipping location on the listing page is set for my country, Canada:

OP1 year agoBut my screen shows that I do accept returns, as I have always done.
I remember having this issue about 5 years ago or more when some Ebay setting randomly changed without my knowledge. That time it also took me weeks to figure out how to correct it. But I have always had international shipping using EIS and have recently shipped some items to the EIS hub.
Oh well, I will need another cup of coffee before I start tackling this issue.

OP1 year agoCrikey, everything on my end shows EIS is available. I just tried to relist using sell similar with a listing I sold just a few days ago that went through EIS. We shall see what happens.
