Very glad to see the end of August come around. 2 events to look forward to now are the NFL kicking in & the final days of summer humidity. Until I had 2 sales of $40 total on Marketplace yesterday, I did not have $100 in sales for the entire month. What a brutal 31 days. I cannot remember the last time a month was horrible like that. Fortunately, I'm a 1-man show & taking care of myself is easy. That is my sole luxury. lol Who else looks forward to the end of summer? High humidity & low sales are a nuisance. Good luck to all. :)

·6 days agoWe have two seasons - rainy season and construction season.
Racing is starting up for me, with a 10k and a half-marathon already this month, and two other 10k and at least one half-marathon coming up. I always look forward to this.
Our pride and joy is the Seattle Marathon which runs just after Thanksgiving, when the weather is generally nice and appalling. The organizers once changed it to June for 'better weather' - not only did that create an outcry "What have you done to our horrible race??? What will happen to our bragging rights???" but it was cold and rainy on the June date, anyway, because, guess what...it's June! They moved it back and everyone is happy again. It's very well organised.
Yeah, and I'm listing again.

From your complaints over the years, this seems to be your normal.
With the Trump Tariff, the costs for American buyers importing goods has risen extremely. Using eIS does help this somewhat since we do get at least a postage discount.
And we can send some packages by untracked Letterpost or or Expedited Lite to Mississauga, both of which reduce our costs slightly.

·1 week agoThere is always the ebb and flow of e-commerce to start with. But with the massive expansion of e-commerce over the last 2 decades all Ebay has anymore is name recognition. Ebay's not built to compete, they are built to provide a service which is being an ad venue. School was out, summer is here and people simply have other priorities. Schools back in session, fall's just around the corner, and the holiday season is about to start so hopefully things will improve.

·1 week agoI miss the NFL but since they insulted me and millions of others I refuse to watch until they apologize. The same with most pro sports.
I won't miss August though. Nice warm nights but wildfire smoke................................

·1 week agoThe USPS increases killed nearly all of my Ground Advantage sales, resulting in a monthly sales amount lower than I've seen since about 2014 -- and they're going up again in October.
A few more months like that and I'll have to seriously consider giving up entirely.

·1 week agoI cannot call my August Performance bad, but it was strange.
Sales numbers came in within my normal range, but average ticket is slightly down, lots of day to day volatility, and a boost in orders where my fixed price shipping was lower than the postage cost for the shipment, more than usual rural buyers.
Have not lost money on my total shipping for the month.
Some items listed for years have sold.
Either someone found some extra money in their pocket, or they decided that the prices are not going to be going down, or the ydecided to visit Ebay after an absence and they bought.
