Attention all sellers
What do you think if you sell an item, and are told to ship the item, but the buyer disputes her payment after you shipped the item and sent an email with the tracking number. Now you’re out of the money After you were told to ship it and you shipped it? This happened to me, a seller. The outcome of this depends on whether the buyers financial institution sides with her and sends that information to the site. Guess what your automatically declined. Then you have to appeal it all this whole process can take a year to the best of my understanding.

·2 years agoI don't have an answer, but I always tell sellers you have to do your homework on buyers. You're dealing with people on the internet that are hundreds or thousands of miles away and you will never meet face to face.
Review the buyer's profile.
When did they become an eBay member?
What does their full feedback profile look like?
Is the buyer possible sending odd messages? That is a red flag for me is when they ask constant questions on a simple item. I know then that any transaction with them will not end well.
Google map the address. Look at both street and satellite view.
Now it's up to you with the information you have now collected to determine if the buyer is solid or not.
If you still feel a little iffy, ship with signature required. No one to sign for package, you will get your item back in about a month with USPS return process.

·2 years agoI have just received a payment dispute, 6 hours after items was shipped. Its an international sale so it won't show delivered for maybe a week or two. I only have two options accept the dispute or challenge it. If I challenge the dispute ebay seems to only recognize delivered items. Seems to me that ebay hasn't thought out items in transit??

·2 years agoWas this a credit card dispute? If they opened a chargeback with their payment provider because they 'didn't recognize the transaction' ebay will cover you if enter the tracking number to show that delivery was made to the payment address.
If it was a item not as described cc chargeback it will be more difficult to fight but it may be possible since the buyer opened the claim right away and didn't go through the ebay system. I don't have any suggestions on how to fight something like that but hopefully someone else will.

·2 years agoIf tracking that was uploaded to ebay shows delivered to the address on file you should be covered by ebay
