Astronomical Sellers Fees * Can someone guide me please?
Sold old baseball card
Sold $350
Tax I understand
Transaction fees $72.39 or 20.6 % fee
Ad standard Fee $50 (What is this? Ads are .35 cents, re-list .35 after 250 items where did $50 come from please and how do I contact a person at ebay to discuss?

·2 years agoThere is a portion of the selling community who think of their listings as an AD. Ebay does not. ADs are an optional way of promoting your listing and you opted in.
When you list, you must avoid selecting anything which says AD or promotion or you will have to pay extra,

Have over 3000 listed , so appreciated knowing a short cut in finding

·2 years agoI don't use promoted listings, so not sure about this.
If you go to seller hub, then go to active listings and click edit, then select how many you wish to edit.
Then go all the way to the bottom of the list of things that can be edited. Promoted is at the bottom of the list.
That's as far as I can go to help.

·2 years agoFirst thing you can do is to go to your Active listings. In the upper right corner, Click on Customize Table and check Promoted listings box. After you save your settings, there will be a separate column showing which listings are promoted.
Then you can use the Bulk editing tool, on the left Bulk Edit, and stop promotions to the items that you previously selected.

WHen you list a new item, make sure that promotions are not turned on (the section towards the bottom of the listing page)

·2 years agoWhen Martin2001 referred to your active listing page, they were referring to the Seller Hub Active listings page - the one I linked to in my above post. https://www.ebay.com/sh/lst/active
On that page there is a "customize" link just above your listings on the right where you can add/remove columns to the table. There is an option to add a column called "Promoted Listings" which you may find useful if you decide to use PLS, but you may find to be more of a nuisance if your plan is to never use PLS.
It's definitely an option if you want that permanent visibility, but the column will be filled with suggested ad rates if you're not using PLS. You may or may not find the Quick Filter option I presented to be less of a nuisance if your plan is to not use PLS but just check once a day/week/whatever to make sure none of your listings accidentally had PLS applied. You can also bookmark the advertising dashboard as another quick reference point to make sure you don't have any accidental promoted listings.

·2 years agoHi Terry. "Ad Fee Standard" means you used Promoted Listings Standard. Promoted Listings are optional and within the seller's control to use or not use, and to decide what percent (anywhere from 2% up to 100% of sale) they are willing to pay to promote their listing.
Because you used promoted listings and that's how the buyer found your item, you were charged the ad fee.

You can manage all of your active ad campaigns, adjust rates, etc.
Another option is on the Active listings page in Seller Hub:

Expand the "quick filters" and click the promoted listings standard promoted button. This is a direct link to that filter:

You can also edit any individual listing and change the PLS status down near the bottom.
Keep in mind if you remove PLS from your listings, there is still a 30 day period where buyers that originally found your listing through its sponsored placement can purchase the item and the ad fee will be charged. If you remove PLS from all of your listings today, then you won't be "ad fee free" until 30 days have passed.
Also keep in mind if you end your ad campaigns today, each time you create a new listing you'll want to check carefully before you submit the listing that PLS is not enabled by default. You may need to uncheck it before you publish your listing since the option is on the listing form and eBay may prefill a "recommended" ad rate.

Looks like I started the promoted listing in September....so a card racks up that much in fee in 6 months?
Choice #3 , I dont understand "expand filters" Also, what is PLS
I would like to clean up and know better that to use certain functions

·2 years agoPLS = Promoted Listings Standard. Sorry got tired of typing out full phrase.
Expand quick filters, see below.
I provided both links because #1 advertising dashboard is fastest way to manage if you plan to end in bulk (glad to hear that helped) and #2 quick filters because it's super quick to click on that at any time you're on the active listings page and see if you inadvertently listed anything with PLS attached.

No, it doesn't matter if it's promoted for 6 months or 6 minutes. The fee is based on the rate (percent) you applied when listing the item. (Or the recommended rate eBay applied which you inadvertently agreed to when publishing.) Say you promote at 10%, that means you'll be charged a fee of 10% of total amount buyer pays (item+ship+tax). Essentially, you're increasing your final value fee by 10%. Hope that makes sense. Let us know if you have more questions.

·2 years agoYou need to read up on 'halo' sales to understand that it is not easy to simply "turn off" promoted listing fees.
"There are two ways an ad rate will be charged on listings that are active in the Promoted Listings Standard program: as a Direct sale or a Halo Item sale. A Direct sale is when a buyer purchases the same item that was featured in the Standard ad they originally clicked on within 30 days. A Halo Item sale is when a promoted item, different from the item originally featured in the ad the buyer clicked on, is purchased within 30 days of the original click."

I am based over in Europe, seller fees have gone through the roof, an International sale for me now costs in excess of 25%-30% almost double what they used to be for we are charged seller fees on any local taxes the buyer pays plus being charged on the shipping fees, then we are hit with a VAT charge on the seller fees.... sorry, I digress.....BUT I have been roped in, without my consent on a number of occasions to some form of promoted listing...& now have to double check every listing I make to guarantee that there is no promoted listing box ticked.
IMPORTANTLY for any seller who un-ticks the promoted listings fee box, PLEASE get your head around this... If the buyer happened to have your item in his/her watchings before you removed the promoted ad-on, you will STILL I REPEAT still get charged that promoted listing fee for up to a month after you removed the ad-on.
You are better off to remove the item from sale & relist, making sure there is no promoted ad-ons.
I recently sold a $200 (I am based in Spain but regularly list on .com for visibility) & my fees, which are already around the 25% mark when I ship overseas, were over 30% because a promoted listings % had been added on without my knowledge.
