As of now not even one sale. What I'm doing wrong?
Hello everyone.
I have had an eBay account for more than two months, and a lot of people are going through my products, but as of now not even one sale. What I'm doing wrong?
Any suggestion, any help, thanks

·1 year agoI would suggest trying to sell the collection in large valuable chunks instead of one coin at a time then.

·1 year agoI don't sell coins, mostly books and other items. My sales have gone down the toilet. I am on the verge of giving up.
I am almost done with my brothers estate, and will re-evaluate what I have left of my stuff and decide if I should try to sell on e-bay, marketplace or just donate it.
I see no improvement in the economy in the near future, so why hoe for the items to sell.

·1 year agoTo be 100 percent honest you don't really live in a country where it is feasible to be a successful seller on United States ebay.
US ebay customers pretty much purchase exclusively from America or from China because the Chinese postal system abuses the way international postal systems work so Chinese sellers basically ship to America for free. You can't compete with the shipping prices, so you can't really sell anything to America unless you are the only source for the item and there are plenty of those coins already available from American dealers. And American dealers can ship those coins for $1, not $10 or $20.
In 27 years on purchasing on ebay I can't actually recall ever buying anything on ebay that wasn't coming from America or China other than a single order of Japanese arcade circuit boards from Japan over 20 years ago and I don't actually remember if those were through ebay or not (it might have been Yahoo auctions or something else that was around at that time).

·1 year agoYou need to edit your listings and change your "exclusion list". When I checked it shows you do NOT sell to the following countries:

·1 year agoSeller is listed in Israel and only ships in the USA.
So I am guessing someone from the USA is shipping items out.
And how does a buyer do a return...to who...and where?
Buyers are getting smarter these days.
By the way, I have been to Haifa, Israel.
Some of my best buyers are from Israel...but I had to block the country due to shipping delays which are appropriate to deliver times per the conflict.
This has nothing to do with the seller but only the current events unfortunately.

·1 year agoI have a personal collection I considered listing since the money is more useful for things I need than a bunch of coins I don't have time to enjoy.
But I had a collection that I ran auctions on from February until September and the stuff was good, better than what's in my collection, yet the bidding wasn't going very high. Makes me think in generally there's not much of a market for coins anymore.
Most of the coins I sell are things with packaging that can be displayed. The packaging is what's making them valuable and desirable. Your circulated common coins are not going to generate much interest.

·1 year agoI think coin collecting like stamp collecting is a hobby in serious decline. I am 47 and in my lifetime the only interesting thing you could find in your change was the occasional worthless wheat penny. Not exactly the sort of environment that sparks interest in coin collecting.

·1 year agoAfter reviewing your listing you got several issues as others have stated as well.
1) You have zero feedback and from Israel. Buyers from the US would buy from established sellers and with the war going on a lot of buyers are probably unsure how the postal service is over in Israel so they pass.
2)No return policy. Try 30 days and seller pay for shipping cost.
3) You are overpriced. Buyers can find your stuff cheaper. Please do research how much your stuff sells for.
4) Shipping cost. Sorry but nobody in the US is paying $25 for shipping on coins. In addition there are a lot of buyers who don't buy outside the US.
5) Demand in what you are selling. Maybe these are items that buyers are just not interested in purchasing. Some items I have take years to sell. So if you are trying to make a go of it as a business you might want to look at other platforms as well at a reasonable price for the item.

3. You have one counterfeit Chinese coin listed, the faux silver plating is wearing off
4. Many of your coins are very common (in our shop we'd sell them to you for 25 cents each)

Sell undesireable stuff = low/no sales.
Sell desirable stuff = lots of sales.

·1 year agoDeciding to sell your coins on Ebay and succeeding, means knowing what collectors in the US want to buy and how much they will spend including shipping is competitive. You also need to know how desirable the items are and the level of competition.
Selling retail products into a different market than your own requires you know about that market. Many off shore sellers stand no chance of succeeding.
Fortunately, I do not sell coins, know little about coins other than the US coins I leave on the dresser because they are too heavy to carry. I am not offering an opinion as to whether you should be spending time trying to sell on Ebay.

·1 year agoThere really is not much value in what you are selling. Your prices are extremely high. Try selling at a local coin shop. Do not expect much.

I see a lot of 9 coins for less than $10, also I saw one for $1.39 with $2 shipping. Why would anyone pay 10 times more, Buyers are not stupid, they shop around and compare prices.

·1 year agoFirst thing I would HIGHLY recommend removing your listings over like $50. Start with low cost items until you get a good feel for the process. Scammers prey on new sellers with high value, easy to flip product, like money.
I don't know what your actual shipping cost looks like. But I'll echo the fact that there's no way anyone in the US is paying $25, or even $5, to ship a coin.

Seller does not accept returns.
This is almost certainly a very big part of the problem.
I order a coin from you and I do not like it, or I find a defect, or I decide its not genuine.
You say I cannot return it.
But you know what will happen?
I will file an "item not as described" case with eBay and you will be forced to send me a shipping label so I can return it to you.
For the sake of argument, let's say that I am dishonest and instead of sending you the $300 coin you sent me, I return to you an American quarter (25 cents.)
What will you do then? eBay will not get involved in the dispute.
I know that this was not part of your original question, but are you aware of these hazards of selling on eBay?
