Anyone having an issue with sold items being relisted?
This has now happened 3 times in 3 months. I take monthly inventory of everything listed as well.
Last item was a set of ignition coils, go to box it up, can't find them. Turns out I sold them 11/20/25
The listing shows the start time as 7:42am my time 1/28/26 I don't list that early of a morning.

·6 months agoThis has happened to me twice now as well! I dont know why this happens, but since they changed to free returns on autoparts it has!
The last one a brake pad that sold then 2 weeks later it sold again, I was like what? I only ever had one and it just had sold and was still on my mind as it got hung up in the post office, looked at the listing and as you it was posted in the early morning, and I work my other job mornings and never ever post in the mornings during the week, as it was posted on a tuesday!

·6 months agoIt happens from time to time but it was probably my human error. More than once I thought I had clicked something off but it wasn't (or vice versa). It is hard to isolate these artifacts without constant inventory review which is not reasonable but buyers seem really good at finding them!

·6 months agoI have had it happen more than just a few times last year but none so far this year.
Tried to talk to eBay about it but that was a joke.
Luckily most of the buyers understood.

·6 months agoI've always wondered if this happens to sellers that end and relist. Since sell similar leaves them in the unsold/inactive folder, it seems really easy to mess up and relist again if they weren't manually deleted.

·6 months agoMine always came from one of two things, messing up on end and relist, or accidentally making and then launching 2 drafts for the same item.
While the reverse (item no longer listed) always seemed to be related to trusting the ebay system to relist that cancelled order.

·6 months agoYes, it happens to me a couple of times a year. I still can't figure it out after 28 years of being here. As you mentioned, I just have to do a complete inventory check against what is listed. It's the only way to prevent this from happening. Good luck!

·6 months agoI used to think I was getting these, but once I switched over to an email address dedicated just to ebay and let it send every single notification I was able to see by searching that email that it was my error every single time.

What do you know?
I check the sold-out listing seconds after posting on this board & voila the listing in question is now gone.
I just have never seen a multi-hour delay in a paid-for sold-out listing "vanishing."
Maybe it's what @hartungcards always is saying?

·6 months agoI think maybe. There has been a three times that an item was showing up for sale (thankfully only one sold and I had to cancel it) that had already sold. I don't know if it is the system or if it was my error. I know I am holding each item when make a listing so I am not sure how I could have double listed but I may have done something else wrong that caused it. I am trying to keep tabs on my listings now so it doesn't happen again. 😌

Normally, when I sell out of an item the listing goes "bye-bye." It always has been that way.
This was not the case in the recent event. The item listing is still posted.
Listed as "sold out" but still active.
Is this a glitch or is there now an inordinate delay in sold out listings going "bye-bye?"

·6 months agoYes just a couple days ago...it is called GHOST LISTINGS and ebay has known about it for years and can do nothing about it....when does it happen?, when ebay starts playing around trying to fix other issues on the platform, some issues require the platform to be replaced with an alternate platform(so they do not take ebay offline altogether) So if an item sells in between time, when then main platform is return online is where the issues begin and items sold pop back up as still available. 1st couple times it drove me crazy looking for an item only to find it archived sold. And if you do not report it ebay will ding your account.

·6 months agoTwice in one week for me. Also indicates a relist time I never do listings at.
If the goal is to ruin one's seller rating (lose fee discounts) by relisting solds to create cancelled orders...It's working awesomely Ebay.
I can assure you these issues are NOT my fault. Give it one or two more and I am done with reselling on eBay. The best part of this scam? you cannot delete sold listings for 90 days. So there's at least a 90day risk window for ebay to run this drill on you. I am no archiving sold listings hoping that foils their game. We will see.

·6 months agoYes, cannot resist ended items. I end items then the don't show up as unsold yet the active listing by total number say they are their but the exactly listing with photo is missing. This happened to me this morning. I checked everywhere for them can't find them.
