Hello, I am not bragging in any way shape or form and although not all organically driven, I've never seen anything quite like this before. So we were DEAD 75% of the day yesterday and after realizing this I decided to go ahead and send out discounted offers for various items and send them to individuals watching and or who have looked at the item more than just once. I took the couple hours it took to send out these offers very well knowing that in the past, 90% go unanswered not even receiving counter-offers on the items that I left open to allow them. Well the results have been VERY unexpected because in the last 4 hours or so yesterday evening, I went to bed with roughly 15 sales with roughly 20% of those sales having actually been organic sales it appears anyway, because a couple of them I did send out an offer but then the item sold for my full asking price. Weird but whatever I'll take it. The morning starts and although I wasn't woken up to the sounds of "Cha Ching.!", it didn't take long for it to start up again and keep going all **bleep** day giving me a total of exactly 25 sales in only 24 hours, from right about this time 8pm yesterday to today now 8pm. INSANITY.!!! AND NO I'M NOT COMPLAINING EITHER. I've always wondered if the data regarding views but watchers most importantly was even accurate, knowing that the watchers could be other sellers with similar items watching for knowledge to use in selling their own items. And so I've also always wondered if offers I ever sent out, actually went out to anyone because at least 90% of any offers in the past wouldn't get any kind of reply back until yesterday. And I am one who has been working diligently to try and figure out this algorithm since the views update, however my theory has been that since that update we've all been operating on a system roughly 1/10th the size that it once was, while eBay works on the main part updating everything they want until they roll it back out one day. Which might explain how 1 out of 10 new listings gains traction soon after its creation, while the others seem to sit & wait until their "Timer" is up so to speak, and then they finally go up for others to see. And I am in collectibles, a category which many people is the first to get cut off buyers expenditures during more difficult much harder and more expensive economic times such as the present we are all currently having to endure. But I feel that people would rather make cuts even to some necessities or items right on the line of being so, than to just make cuts to items they absolutely do not need in order to live. However when someone gets a much enjoyment as most individuals do, creating a collection they cherish of various like items usually, that enjoyment becomes a necessity when everything else in life becomes harder to keep quote on quote "NORMAL". ANYWAY, I HOPE ANYONE ELSE THAT TRIES SENDING OUT OFFERS GETS A VERY NICE BUT UNEXPECTED RESULT FLYING BACK AT THEM.
