Anyone else having problems with ebay's new "size" changes making it impossible to relist accurately?

Is anyone else having problems with ebay's new "size" requirements? At least 5 of my listings can no longer be listed -- because changing them to ebay's new
size format wouldn't accurately reflect the listing. For example, I'm selling 2 sweaters in one listing - but one is a size small and the other is an XS. Ebay won't let me relist them to show this. Instead, I have to choose ONE size for both -- which would not be accurate.
.In another listing, I'm selling a group of 5 pantyhose -- and the packaging shows they're all size "AB." But ebay doesn't recognize this - and wants me to choose either "A," "B," "C," or "D." It would be inaccurate for me to list them all as a size "A" or "B" -- and this would give the buyer the excuse to return them for being inaccurate. So, I can't relist them.
In another listing, a vintage jacket is listed as size 9. But when I click "regular" and size 9 - -it tells me I need to change the type of size from regular. But it IS regular -- it's not petite, it's not maternity, etc. -- It's regular size 9. But, it won't let me re-list it this way.
All of these happened in one day. I can only imagine how many more listings won't meet these bizarre new sizing rules as my auctions end.
Is anyone else running into this?
Is there a way to convince Ebay to drop this new rule & return to the previous sizing rules so that we can ACCURATELY post our listings?

·1 week agoWhat's crazy about it is that they've removed the ability to add your own value. There are so many items where you can add your own value to a required field because apparently they recognize in other situations that they might not have thought of all possible values.
I get that they want there to be a more streamlined search when using item specifics, but allowing custom values doesn't really mess with that much, since your chosen value isn't going to show up as a possible item specific when refining a search (at least it usually doesn't). But it does allow sellers to avoid SNAD claims!
I had no problems with the way it was before, either selling or searching, so I agree it was a solution without a problem.

·1 week agoDoes anyone know what to do with Chico's vanity sizes? Size 3 doesn't exist in the new list.

·1 week ago@dano.sales_26 Chico sizing is not vanity sizing, it's boutique sizing, 0, 1, 2, 3, 4 (and some halfs like 2.5, but those aren't very common). Chico's size charts are easily findable online, but Chico's 3 is about an XL - I use the letter equivalent both in the title and just "XL" in the IS's.

·1 week agoNot until recently(past couple weeks). ANOTHER thing nobody asked for. And I guarantee if you asked Ebay why this new rule is important, they couldn't tell you. The "Idea" person trying to keep their job.

·1 week ago · Edited@illusions1137 yes, i was not 'allowed' to put the size that is on the glove tag as S/M or Small Medium, so i chose M and put S/M in the title and Small-Medium in the description and photographed the cloth label that shows S/M

·1 week agoFor any clothing sellers who are unhappy with this new feature, you should leave feedback using the question mark at the bottom of the seller hub.
I left this:
"The new rollout of "standardized fashion sizes" is not good for buyers or sellers. You have left out many sizes and taken away the option for people to input a custom size. If ebay wants sellers to put in "the size closest" then ebay needs to pay for the Item Not As Described returns that will result from the incorrect information in the listing."

OP1 week agoI've called into ebay twice about this. But the customer service reps just claimed they'd pass it on to tech support and never do. I'd like to leave written feedback, but where is this question mark on the seller hub that you're talking about? Is it just the question mark that's on the bottom right hand corner of every listings page?

The customer service reps can't do anything with this. This is an ebay-decided code change. Giving your feedback will tell them whether the code is something good/ bad for buyers and sellers, and they can use that information to make changes if they feel it's necessary.

·6 days agoThanks for the advice - I just sent feedback, so maybe if enough of us do this, they will listen. I'm especially having this problem with Lululemon - the size tags are almost always missing on pre-owned items. With Chico's I looked up their size chart and now just list them with the equivalent sizes. It's really difficult when there are no size tags or they have a size that doesn't show up on the eBay sizes. I put the info in the title, in item description, and also in the Condition Description box. But, as I'm sure a lot of you know, many people don't read everything in the listing. More problems for sellers for no good reason - thanks eBay!

·1 week agoI can imagine this is a nightmare for vintage dealers. A 1960s size 14 is cut totally differently than a modern one. You can put both in the title, but that might not help. List under the size on the dress and you run the risk of running into some yahoo who doesn't know what she's buying and doesn't read. It's also a set-up for an NAD. Whoever set up the system had pool noodles for brains.

·1 week agoIm so f'ing pissed about this as a seller of men's suits that require precise sizing. Ive been dealing with this headache for months and ebay is forcing me to list incorrectly. They do not give a damn about us sellers and how their changes affect us.

·1 week agoYes, this is a nightmare for all clothing vendors. Obviously, the computer programmer who created this program knows nothing about clothing.
EBAY only suggestion is just to pick any size "near" the size you are selling. Then put correct size on title line and in your description with an explanation why you listed with wrong size. Very stupid solution.

OP1 week agoExactly. And if the buyer chooses to return the item "Not as described" due to the inaccurate sizing, ebay will likely side with the buyer.

OP1 week agoNo, it's a vintage Canadian jacket, where 9 is a normal size. This isn't a juniors jacket.

·1 week agoWhen junior sizing originated in the 50s, it was meant for a certain type of shape/figure rather than a specific age bracket. Having said that, I wear junior sizing and it has been broken into its own style/age range since the 70s as far as I can remember.
For this junior size number but not junior style jacket, I would simply use a size equivalent - the vintage category IS's tend to be a little more flexible, but I've usually fallen back on letter equivalents for stuff like this.
