Anybody still playing the Top Rated Seller Game?
Such a tough decision, saving a few dollars a year with 10% off on my FVFs, or saving hundreds of dollars a year by throwing a 62 cent stamp on an envelope instead of over $3.50 just to get the tracking to qualify for the TRS. Geez, tough one 🤣

·3 years agoMy customers expect a tracking number because the items I sell all cost more than $20.
Not a game but it's nice to be rewarded for meeting my customer's expectations.

·3 years agoYou are starting from a series of false premises.
The money I save on the 10% FVF discount runs into 4 figures.
The aggravation I save by eliminating INAD complaints having every package sent with tracking.
Postage costs me NOTHING. So the 3% rebate I get on at least some of my labels is essentially a rebate on money I never spent.

·3 years agoYou must have some patient buyers. In year 2013, I had a lot who were not patient and they collectively filed an egregious amount of Item Not Received cases. My selling limit was severely reduced.
I started putting a tracking number on all packages and in less than 2 years my selling limit increased to $2 billion dollars.
Are you able to pocket the difference between $0.62 and $3.50 dollars or do you pass the savings along to the buyers?

·3 years agoSeems that having another account for "non-tracked" items might be a thought.
Save the shipping $$ on those items.
Retain the TRS for discount on the other items that need/justify that tracking.
I've never chased the TR + carrot, but then I'm just a grain of sand on the eBay beach.

·3 years agoI have been considering the approach of a second account. It would permit me to liquidate inventory that five yrs. of a combination of USPS and e-Bay fee increases has eliminated. Back then, I could send a DVD to California for $1.97 at 3 ounces and the FVF was 10%.
