Answer on unexpected payout
I called the customer service . Hit #1, then #0, until a representative comes on the line.
He stated that numerous sellers did not receive their weekly payout on Tuesday, so eBay had to reset the payout system to resolve the issue. They had to send any available funds to all sellers in order to restart the system. The payout today will be deducted from the next payout, like a partial payout.

·1 year agoI noticed that I got a second payout last night of a whole $6 & was wondering why. You'd think if that was the reason there would have been some announcement. I got my regular payout & then this one. Weird.

·1 year agoOhhhh, so that's what happened. Frankly, I saw the deposit in my account very early this morning and was like I have no memory, whatsoever, of transferring that money. I was a bit freaked out tbh. LOL

·1 year agoeBay does not publish a phone number for customer service anymore, and I would not be confident that whoever you called has any actual association with eBay. If you want to speak with them on the phone, you should request a callback via the website (but in this case, I would not expect that to be useful).

I wouldn't trust one word any "representative" has said from a supposed "eBay phone number" that you have found and dialed.

·1 year agoI don't understand why would they tell you todays payout will be deducted from next weeks payout?
Wouldn't next week's payout be just any balance that you have?
Say the extra payout was 100. So next week they deduct 100? Then pay you?
I got the random payout today on both accounts. Figure it just a bug in the system.

Because eBay likes to make things more difficult and confusing whenever possible.
