Another NO SALES Thread, See You At Marketplace, Folks! =)
'Twas two weeks before Xmas and my backup account (which I started this year) is outselling my main account (this one). Hmm.
Coming up for air after listing all my high-end stuff on FB. It's really just as well, because if I sell any of it there, it cuts out the middleman.
U.S. consumers are completely tapped out for the most part, I get that. It just really makes me suspicious when my lowly backup account does better than my main one with 150 listings, where my main one has like 12 times that.
Every year it's the same thing in December, I'm not finding some of my cooler listings in generic search after sifting through 1400 listings, sorted by price (a search for "remote dinosaur" didn't have my two rare vintage midcentury ones). I know exact (or close) match finds my stuff on less generic search terms, and I'm not complaining since I have such a low sales ratio, it's just frustrating. I'll get em next year I guess.

[Edit] Also, boy those Labubus were the worst buying decision I've made in years. No one wants 'em! 🤣

·7 months agoI literally can't sell anything on Facebook marketplace unless it is free. I have crosslisting software and I once crossposted all 2000 of my non-card items to marketplace and in one month it resulted in me selling a single hat for $6. My ebay account sold 300 items out of that 2000 in the same month.

Your price on one which another seller has exact same thing : $56.90 + $5.77 shipping.
other seller: $39.99 with free shipping.
One has to check other seller's prices...we sellers are not going to get what we want for the item.
It is very competitive in pricing.

·7 months agoYesterday, Gamestop announced its quarterly earnings. If you follow the stock market at all, you would be aware that it is THE meme stock whose price is highly affected by social media.
Gamestop reported a drop in sales of hardware and software and a 50% increase in sales of collectibles.
Think about that and how it might be similar and different to Ebay seller experiences. Think about whether or what that means to the economy in general.
I am not ready to speculate because I am having a hard time reconciling these results, and my own, with the conventional wisdom.

When I conduct a search now I get a couple of results and then Ebay is giving me a quiz...so I move on...its like the last thing Ebay wants is for me to have a successful and easy search - they use my search like they use our listings - as opportunity to infest with unwanted irrelevant ads and other visual noise.

·8 months agoIts the gifting season, I see nothing in your store that seems to call out "gift me".
Normally my sales are at their yearly low at this time of year because my items do not call out "gift me".
It ain't Ebay's fault that people buy for others this time of year, and will start buying for themselves in January.
Inexplicably, I have had my best September - December in decades, But although my number of items sold so far this month is not bad, my average sale is less than half the dollars.

·8 months agoComes down to price and demand. Check your prices. A lot of times sellers overprice there items and don't realize it until they do research on the item listed and sold. In addition comes down to demand which you did bring up. There might not be any buyers who are interested in purchasing the items you have at this time. Yes I agree try to sell on other platforms. Just so you know FB is slower right now unless you have bargain deals. If you are expecting market value which you probably do you will need to wait it out. Sometimes it takes years to sell certain items.

Sometimes I find that adjusting shipping strategies—like offering free shipping by building the cost into the item price—can help boost listing visibility and appeal to consumers who are feeling the pinch of high shipping costs. It might be worth a test with some of your higher-end listings to cut through the noise.

When I search remote dinosaur and sort by Price - Highest First, I get 3500 matches and your items are on page 3 (the $59.90 one) and page 7 (the $38.90 one). I am set to show 240 listings per page.

OP7 months agoLol, the default is always "best match" which is the mystery meat algorithm 90% of eBay users see.
