Ancient Coins (or Collectibles in general I believe) Listing New Rules
Since new year I believe Ebay has introduced some rules in order to sell coins you must fulfil some certain criteria. (100 sales, 1000 USD in sales, 90 days seller account)
Said rules supposed to help with scammers etc. but most fake sellers that I know have 100% rating with long sales history so they will continue to sell their fake coins in their shady listings while new honest sellers will be blocked from selling.
I have just started selling some ancient coins on this planform completed 5 orders without any problem since I started couple weeks ago. I have no intention to sell anything else. I've got already 20+ coins listed in my seller account prior to this nonsensical regulation. This is just a ridiculous measure that does not prevent anything while all the fake sellers are out there selling their obviously cheap cast fakes with their long list of sales history and 100% positive ratings.
This rule needs to be reviewed as it blocks many honest people from start selling. This is not a way to go, at least for the ancient coins.

Sell some other items until you're qualified.

OP8 months agoI do understand but If I were to open up and Ebay store with the numismatics in its name with an intention to sell genuine numismatics pieces, do I need to sell random stuff that has no relation to the numismatics before I can get eligibility to sell coins.
This does not make any sense, one can be a great cars sales person with top review and a log list of sales history but not understand a single thing about coins business (identification, grading ect.) which makes him eligible to sell in this field? Also again most fake sellers are well established with top ratings on Ebay which again does not prevent counterfeiting or intentionally selling cast forgeries.

If that is actually the rule, then yes.

But you would demonstrate an understanding of how to use eBay as a seller.

If they are Top Rated on eBay, they must be dealing quickly and correctly with buyer complaints.
