an ebay listing put my sale at$150 not the price i put in the buy it now at $800..never in 25yrs !

i have been on ebay for 25 ish years and this has never happened before..
i have proof that i had it listed at $800 but somehow ebay listed it at a suggested price of $150..[ no. i did not have that box checked to allow that]

so it sold immediatley at the $150.. i cannot find where to reach ebay for this matter.. again i never ever had this happen ...HELP!! WE USED TO BE ABLE TO CALL EBAY FOR VARIOUS MATTERS.. is there a way to email or call them? thanks!!!

·3 years agoDoubt it's a Matrix thing; sometimes you have to toggle OFF the 'suggestion' as it's already checked to go with the 'eBay suggested price'.

This is what happened. Ebay took it upon themselves to set the prices they think you should accept instead of what you wanted. Look at this screenshot:
Make sure which ever ones you do not want Ebay to enable are not blue. Slide them to the left. This is why this happened and its a bit sneaky in my opinion.
Also, check your shipping and if you don't ship internationally, make sure Ebay didn't check that for you as well.

actually it is a bit stranger than that in that i did not mark it in blue to allow it..
i always make sure these buttons are pressed correctly.. and it happened anyway.. i think they have a glitch of some sort..
again i really appreciate your taking time to answer !

·3 years agoEbay probably had that set (or did a reset somewhere along the way) because they know what is best for your sales and what will help you sell the fastest.
<sarcasm on> See...you got your item sold quick and ebay was right like usual! </sarcasm off>
I better check my settings and make sure ebay isn't "helping" my sales.

·2 years agoITS NOT A GLITCH. EBAY AUTOMATICALLY CHANGES YOUR PRICES TO MAKE SALES FOR BUYERS. THIS IS HAPPENING TO MEVON EVERY LISTING WHERE I HAVE A BEST OFFER PRICE LISTED. ## I WANT TO KNOW HOW TO STOP THEIR PRICE FIXING##

·3 years agoI wrote an add recently and I know that I put the correct price and it was supposed to start at night. Luckily, I noticed the wrong price before the ad started. I would take a negative before I shipped an 800 item for 150. Write the buyer and cancel. Take the ding. Then do NOT list that one for a bit. You don't want to tick off the buyer more.
I wish that as a seller you can block ALL prices that ebay suggests. I have been here since 1998 and their suggestions are extremely poor.

That was my kneejerk reaction, too. I intentionally answered @claudiaenergypsychology's question without expanding the issue... so I'm glad you popped by! I'd use one of my OOS strikes so fast that my own head would spin. 🙌

you are also right in that their price suggestions are not in line with true market value at all!

i did look and replied that i absolutely made sure it was not marked in blue before i listed..
that is why i am calling it a glitch..
and first time ever in 25yrs i guess is not the worst..

·3 years agoUnfortunately, it seems Ebay loves to trick sellers. Almost anything I list I have to always uncheck all the boxes.

Yes, there is a method to interact (two-way communication) with quality eBay C/S through email. Start with a message on eBay's facebook page. You will receive a quick email response from a Rep who actually has the ability and resources to offer Service. Trust me and good luck.

also what i ended up doing is "asking" my phone to find e-bay numbers which it did!
then after speaking with robots and getting non answers i finally answered in correct format and got a very nice person with great rapport who saw what possibly happened ..[ some glitch in the matrix perhaps? ]
and yes did say to cancel and take my chance with neg feedback..
next time i will go straight to facebook!
