Am I the only seller enjoying this special eBay "sneak peek" Perk?
What is this special perk you may ask?
That is receiving a highlighted excerpt of vitriol cut out from the malicious message of a blocked buyer.
Not the whole message mind you.
Not in my message box so I might reply appropriately.
No.
A carefully curated quotation plastered in bold font at the bottom of my selling page.
I cannot delete this as it is a "reminder" banner at the bottom of my seller page as "message from buyers" and will not erase without reply which you cannot do as there is no message inbox for which to reply.
Just a little "poke in the eye" sans opportunity for rebuttal.
This is not the first time this has happened to me.
I might add, I have VERY few blocked buyers. Only people who have sent me malicious comments or that have literally offered me 1 penny on the dollar as a "best offer."
So, any other sellers enjoying this great benefit or am I the only fortunate son?

·5 months agoHey now, let's all quiet down now about this thing. It's simply an unintended perk of NOT using Seller Hub. This same thing has been happening for me for over a year and I was hoping to have it kept under wraps so ebay doesn't get wise and remove it. That being said, let me ramble on about it for a bit....
I love it. I get to block people AND I get to see a little bit of their now blocked messages sent to me. It's great. Basically the area of the selling overview page you're referring to (on mine anyways), shows the first sentence or so (don't know how many characters) of all messages yet to be replied to. And yes, the messages from the "blocked" are there also...and only there. I don't care that I'm unable to reply to their message, wouldn't want to if I had the option. They are blocked for a reason. No communication needed.

·5 months agoCan you post a screenshot of whatever it is you are seeing? You will need to remove any personally identifying info first of course.

OP5 months agoIt is simply 4 or 5 words of the message in quotations in large text at the bottom of my selling page.
By example only: MESSAGES FROM BUYERS
"I don't like your face"
reply to message (tile button)
(of course, clicking on reply button leads you nowhere as there is no message for which to reply so you have to view this affirmation many times daily until the time cycles through & it goes away by itself.)
I have had this happen before when eBay as a platform flagged the message for possible inappropriate content before I ever received it, so I actually never got to see the whole message but once again received a highlighted excerpt of the malice in the "messages from buyers" section of the selling page.
Again, with no chance to delete this excerpt or reply.

Well, maybe it is a test; I've looked over my selling pages and I can't find anything similar. Hopefully they will abandon that as yet another bad idea.

Don't know if it's a test. I have experienced this "feature" on MY SELLING page for about 1 1/2 years now.
Most often the messages are legit from current and/or potential buyers.
