Am I allowed to criticize sellers on the seller board?
I went shopping for some size 123 lithium batteries on ebay.
I narrowed it down to several possibilities.
Most the listings DON'T EVEN SHOW AN EXPIRATION DATE!
How stupid is that?
Who's going to buy a battery without knowing what the expiration date is?
P.S.
I'm not the postal inspector but technically are these shippable via GA?

·5 months agoLack of obvious pertinent pictures is a reason for me to not buy from a seller. I don't expect everyone to be an expert on everything, but expiration dates are a pretty common and important thing at this point.
As far as USPS, the explanation I received regarding lithium batteries are that internally (non-removable) batteries are ok to shipped GA as is. If the battery is removable it is supposed to be out of the device and wrapped on its own so that it cannot make physical contact (and make it possible to short circuit itself) with any other object. I sent a rechargeable garden tool battery and charger this way. Both base and battery were wrapped apart from one another. It makes it so the box has to be a bit bigger to fit everything, but I had no issues. Make sure it's sent via ground. Same with compressed canisters. I sold a soda stream with a CO2 bottle, it just has to go by ground.

·5 months agoGround Advantage to Hawaii usually means via barge. Most batteries can't/don't ship via air because for safety reasons, but there are a few exceptions. Normally, loose batteries are a no go on airplanes and Ground Advantage literally means shipping on the ground, so water is the next best thing. I believe these shipments may take several weeks as they normally wait until the containers are full to get them moving.
I don't know what type of lithium battery you're trying to buy (a little loose one? one already installed in something?), but Google can help you figure out whether the USPS will allow your specific battery to ship via them and how.
