Am I able to cancel a sale?
I sold an iPad yesterday and the buyer paid already, but they're sending me messages that are a bit rude (they're rushing me to ship when I can't) and it's coming off as a red flag to me.

·2 years agoUnless you cancelled the sale or are selling on another account, it appears this buyer hasn't actually paid yet. Seems to me like your being scammed.
In the old days, there used to be a feature that allowed a seller to hide sold listings from view, but I believe it's no longer available. My point is you're almost certainly being scammed.

OP2 years agoI canceled the order and they left a negative review. Is it possible to get it removed?

·2 years agoAbout the best you can do is say to the buyer - Sorry I can only ship on ............ if that's not ok for you, you can cancel if you want to. Or something similar.
But if you really feel it's a dodgy buyer then take the hit and cancel.

·2 years ago0 feedback and an IPad.
That is scammers dream.
Add to the fact they are rushing you.
I'm not going to lie, it doesnt look good.

OP2 years agoExactly! I haven't been on these forums much, but I have seen a couple of post talking about how electronics are often targeted by scammers. I'm definitely not going to sell!!!

·2 years agoJust be aware that your buyer can still leave you a negative feedback, with your zero fb, its going to sting. And Ebay frowns on new sellers who cancel their first transaction.
bonjourami
·2 years agoMaybe your zero feedback is coming off as a 'red flag' to your buyer.

OP2 years agoThat's an odd take. I'm not sure if you can see that I've sold a couple things before. Someone else commented here and mentioned how they can see I've sold 2 things, so I assume you can too. And everyone starts off as 0, so I think this is a very troll response.

·2 years agoanyone can see what you sold, by simply clicking 'view listings' next to your name and then once there, off to the left, click the box that says 'sold'.
By the way-this ITEM you sold is NOT sold- buyer has NOT even paid for it (because if they did it would show in your 'sold' listings. Buyer is probably a scammer.

OP2 years agoThanks for the info. Will contacting support be of any help?

·2 years agoNo. If the buyer has paid, they'll tell you to ship.

·2 years agoMy bad..the op said he paid?
joso564926
OP2 years agoThe buyer has paid, I haven't purchased a shipping label yet, so maybe that's why it doesn't say sold? I'm not exactly sure.
bonjourami
·2 years agoThe label would have nothing to do with it, you see hes paid in the Seller Hubs transactions, and you got an email from Ebay to ship?

·2 years agoIt shows as sold when I look. I also see your note about shipping same or next day (although you put 2 day handling in the specs), so maybe they are confused and suspicious of you as much as you are of them.
joso564926
OP2 years agoI'll sell it on Craiglist.
stainlessenginecovers
·2 years agoIt does show in his 'sold' listings now- it did NOT when I posted.

·2 years agoWhat do you mean when you state that you “can’t†ship?
joso564926
OP2 years agoI can't ship at the very moment they're asking me to. I said same day or next day on the description of my listing and they've ***demanded*** that I ship it out today.
I've seen several people on here talk about how electronics are commonly used in scams and that rushing the seller is a red flag of an often used tactic of scammers.
bonjourami
·2 years agoUsually a scammer who wants to rush the item has sent a newbie seller a fake Paypal payment. They want to get the item before the newbie catches on.
kensgiftshop
·2 years agoThose are usually scammers that send a fake email saying you've been paid, hoping you ship before you find out you haven't been paid.

·2 years agoThe defect you will cause to your account with only 3 items sold will be a BIG defect.
It will probably drop you to Below Standard performance and cause fee surcharges and restrictions on your account.
joso564926
OP2 years agoAh dang. I'm just not going to sell on eBay then. Thanks.
tinsoldierunderground
·2 years agoYou can, but it will cause a defect to your account, unless you can convince the buyer to request it.
