Hi everyone I am having an issue while trying to list items on the eBay App. Normally I click list item And my camera app opens up and I proceed to take photos and it goes from there through the whole process but all of a sudden today between me listing items I clicked on it and it brought me to a different screen where it wants me to type in my description of my item or I couldld scan a barcode. Didn’t change any settings that I’m aware of. If this has happens to you plz reply. Having to manually type out everything is definitely slowing me down

OP2 months agoNo it appears it’s only for beginner sellers. Im assuming once I hit a certain $$ amount or numbers of sales it was taken away. Either way I guess its a good problem to have lol

·6 months agoIf you can't use AI for descriptions, consider it a blessing!
Then go back to the safest, most honest, and most reliable method of describing your offers... BY HAND!
I am like many others... I don't use AI and can't stand the meaningless, lazy fluff of AI descriptions, and will bypass ANY sellers that are lazy enough to use it..

·5 months agoLook it’s not a blessing if you are selling ^Exact^ items. Like part numbers, building materials, office supplies, sports cards etc…the “update” has slowed things down.
Not every listing needs to stand out some people want an exact item at the best price.
i hope this update changes soon this is annoying

·4 months agoIf I can’t use the AI app I can’t list, I got a hundred listings up in two days, hot wheels makes me 5-10 bucks a pop, my ai feature quit this morning! I have a thousand more listings and I can’t afford the time for myself or anyone else to spend the time to do it manually. I will hang on to my inventory till they make it available again.

Here's a thought, don't bother with AI descriptions. As a buyer, that is an instant turn off for me. As a seller, I personally take the time to describe what I'm selling, and if you can't be bothered to do the same, you are not getting my hard earned money. I know I'm not the only one who feels this way about AI, either.

OP6 months agoI don’t use it for descriptions “it will say some wild stuff lol” I sell sports cards and it helps find the right categories by scanning the items and prefills all of the boring info. I’m assuming at this point that it’s probably just a software issue

·2 months agoI've seen it mentioned many times that the feature disappears once a seller gets enough sales on their account. It's meant to help beginning sellers, but eBay probably doesn't want to pay the costs of bigger sellers using it, so they cut it off at some point (not publicly disclosed).

OP2 months agoYep, I totally agree that that’s what happened because my channel has started to takeoff and then the feature was gone but it’s ok I’ve adapted, thank you for the comment ;)

They took the fun out of the hobby and made it tedious work again. I will hang on to my inventory till they make it available again. Too many people got a taste of what can be done, they will have to bring it back.

It sounds like your eBay app has switched to the "Scan to List" or a text-based listing flow. When you are on the screen that wants you to type or scan a barcode, look for a small camera icon or a toggle switch that says "Take Photo" instead.
