AI Bot False-Positive Policy Violation Freezing 201-Variation Cosmetic Listing
Summary: the-bees_knees is an experienced eBay seller facing issues with AI mistakenly flagging their cosmetic listings as "Prescriptions or OTC Drugs." Their "SeneGence ShadowSense Cream - Powder Waterproof Shadow" listing with 201 variations has been frozen, and they cannot edit the listings to correct the AI-triggered errors. Despite reaching out to customer service, the issue remains unresolved. bashort comments that AI's decisions are often final, while the-bees_knees insists that eBay needs to address these incorrect flags to restore their store's operations. jonathanbrightlight adds skepticism about AI's reliability.
Hello. I have been an active eBay seller for 21 YEARS with 100% POSITIVE FEEDBACK (Username: the-bees_knees).
I am posting here because standard customer service channels are completely frozen. Multiple SeneGence decorative makeup listings have been hit with a false-positive AI flag claiming they are "Prescriptions or OTC Drugs."
They are NOT drugs. They are standard cosmetics being sold legally by hundreds of other sellers. My main listing, "EyeSense Liquid Eyeliner," has 201 VARIATIONS and years of sales history. The bot pulled it because it combined the words "EyeSense" and "Liquid" and mistook it for regulated eye drops. Another listing, "BrowSense Gel," was flagged because the cosmetic description used the word "Microbladed" to describe the brush stroke style, tricking the bot into thinking it was a tattooing needle.
Because the system has completely frozen these listings, I am barred from editing out the harmless cosmetic buzzwords that confused the AI. Standard phone agents have promised 48-hour escalations multiple times and failed, and the live chat system keeps disconnecting.
I am asking an eBay Community Moderator or Community Manager to please escalate this widespread cosmetic AI glitch to the back-office technical team so my historical 201-variation database can be unlocked and restored. Thank you.

·1 week agoHere are your options for contacting Ebay Customer Service. Please be aware that for social media CS, you send them a Private Message and briefly explain what your problem or issue is. Feel free to leave your Name, address, phone number and/or your email address in this message. It is private and secure and it may help to speed up the response for you.

Your options will be on the left. If you use the link below you can only get to the Automated Assistant or Chat box type AGENT or ask an Agent to call you, in the box and hit enter. You will then get more options. Not all options are available 24/7. It will depend on staffing available. So sometimes you can request a call back and sometimes you can't. Sometimes you have the Chat option available and other times it won't me. If it is important to you to use one of those options, just try back later.
If you use a cell phone or other mobile device, you may need to turn off your Spam filter so that Ebay can call you.
If you are a seller outside of the US or Canada, you will need to use the Chat Option.

Below is a link to have Ebay call you back. If staffing is available to do so. It is NOT 24/7.
From this link you can request Ebay to call you in the USA.

·1 week agoebay AI has made a determination and it is final, all of your facts, logic and reasoning are irelevant.

OP1 week agoAI told me to come here and post all of this. He said that corporate people come here to check out stuff like this. Your answer is cut and dried, huh? I find it hard to believe that ebay is okay with losing money. You said the determination is final but there has to be something to do if ebay's AI if flagging listings wrong. I mean my items are not prescriptions. They are cosmetics. They flagged 4 out of all my other Variation listings. It does not make sense. Let's face it ebay is new at AI & this is proof AI can be so wrong!!

OP1 week agoI want to add some critical context to this situation. I have also always been an eBay Top Rated Seller until recently when I got sick, and the volume of my sales went down temporarily because of it. I have never fallen below Top Rated status in 21 years until right now.
Frontline customer service agents do not seem to understand that these listings are strictly cosmetics and have nothing to do with Prescriptions or Over-the-Counter drugs. eBay has allowed an automated AI bot to flag these cosmetics entirely in error, and because the system has completely frozen all 4 of my listings, I am locked out of defending my business. I need an official eBay Community Manager to look past the automated labels and help a 21-year veteran restore their store.
