Again rising the fees without even email warning
Ebay again raise the fees, but this time is very impudently. This time was without any warning email. A shame like never before. What if they make fees 50% from tomorrow, again without any warning? Things are getting worst, instead of better.

·3 years agoI definitely did not receive any notifications either in ebay messages or email. Just went and looked thoroughly, figured I must have just missed it. But no, nothing there. Lots of "join us for the spring seller check-in" notices, but nothing about a Winter Seller Update. I came here for info after realizing fees had jumped after I just happened to look closely at a transaction's fees. Thanks to a post here, I did find the "subscribe" button to opt in to Seller Announcements so hopefully I'll get these notices in the future -- but you shouldn't have to CHOOSE to receive Important Seller Updates in order to know how much ebay is charging!!!

I agree with you 100%
But if they send you notifications without you "opting in" you will have someone come here and yell
"Why do they send me all this stuff!!!! STOP!!!!!!"

·3 years agoIf you scroll through your ebay messages it should be there. I got my seller update email on February 1st. I also see an ebay announcement that same day. If you are missing seeing these announcements that can be found under seller news above on this board, you can subscribe to them and get an email notification. I also think ebay had a banner up on the seller hub for awhile with a link to the seller update.
Those updates are a must to read in order to not be blindsided by changes.

·3 years agoI think what is worse is simply the FVF rates.
13.25%?????
RIP OFF!
What happened to Ebay? It's sad. Is it simply greed, or has operating costs somehow skyrocketed?

·3 years agoCan you think of any place, any place at all, where operating costs have not somehow skyrocketed?

·3 years agoYes-13.25% sounds high but before managed payments we used to pay 9-10% to ebay and 3% to Paypal (approximately). Some how combining those numbers after MP makes it seem worse.

·3 years agoif you look carefully at your ebay fees, you will see that you now pay about 30% for selling an item Ebay takes the % off of the sale price, shipping and the sales tax.

·3 years agoeBay gave about a months' notice via the seller update.
I received eBay messages and emails about the eBay messages on all six accounts that I have. It is also in the announcements on the website.
It was also discussed extensively on this message board.

Another one I didn't receive, but I knew about it thru the forum here. It didn't surprise me at all. Sort of expected it.
