After 19 years selling successfully until the past 2 years
I started selling on ebay in 2007 and did very well for several years. But now it seems I can not give anything away! Ebay just keeps adding more things to charge fees for and its like if you don't use their promotions you listings are never seen! It is just not worth it anymore so I am leaving ebay for good!

·6 months agoPossibly too many sellers and not enough buyers these days, plus money's tight. So you gotta work harder at getting sales. I'm in the same rut but I'm about to list some more stuff soon, it's just that I fear what could happen again. God Bless and Best to You!

As a clothing seller and having a real passion for what I do, if I could give you any advice, it would be (as others have stated) stop doing auctions. People are impatient and want what they want when they want it. This isn’t 2007. This isn’t even 2017 anymore. Things have changed and will continue to.
The best bet is to check solds and find a happy medium, listing at a price you can live with. Also your shipping seems really high. Yes, shipping can be expensive, but you may want to look at what others are charging and again, come up with something that’s workable for both you and your buyers. (If you are staying here, that is). I personally like flat rate. Yes, sometimes an order may be more but on average most of my sales are less. It all works out in the end.
Selling is what you make it. Nobody here is going to hold your hand, give up their sources nor tell you what you should be selling. Sounds like you have a passion for the outdoors. I’d start there. Garage sales will be starting soon enough and theres always thrift stores.
Yes, sometimes the community can seem like we are all big meanies, but when “adults” come and throw tantrums? Well … 🤔 … as they say, if you give people an inch …

OP6 months agoThank you I really appreciate it! I am just a tired old frustrated lady and was venting. I am sorry for whining that's not cool. I guess just a bad couple of months. I pulled all but 2 listings I can't pull them there are bids on them. I have even considered just trying to start over and redoing my listings which will be time consuming since I have over 500. But I do thank you for your input it is really appreciated truly.

·6 months agoYou do have to constantly reinvent yourself, not just here but in all business. That takes time and effort and as competition increases it takes more time and effort. But make some changes, become "new" again!
