After 10 years I am closing my account
I just had a customer return a coin valued at $45.00. He shipped me a empty package. When my carrier handed it to me it felt empty so I asked him to watch me open it. He did so and of course it was empty. The seller stapled all along the edges of the package to give it false weight and placed some newspapers inside. The mailman who said he would happily sign an affidavit confirming this so I called e-bay.
The women told me there was nothing I could do and that I needed to refund the buyer by the deadline.
I sent the buyer photos showing the weight at 1.32 ozs which was for his bubble lined package and the contents. Then I put a silver half dollar on the scale on top of his empty package and it weighed 1.85 ozs.
The buyer never replied back, if that was me I would be asking questions? Now after 10 years I am closing my account with over 3,200 positive feedbacks and zero negative feedbacks. Shame on you e-bay. To top all of this off I am disabled and had to take 4 buses to get his package to the post office in my wheel chair.
I reported the buyer which seems to be all I can do. At 60 years old I just don't need the aggravation and all the bad nerves that will follow if I stayed on worrying about who e-bay will let rip me off next.
So you can believe e-bay sides with buyers 100% of the time and they will even tell you this. I will really miss all my customers and all the friends I have made over years.
PS, If I offended anyone I am sorry, that was not my intention.

·2 years agoI have the opposite problem. I purchased a used motherboard from a seller with 100 reviews. Seem two of the 4 memory banks were bad, so I wanted to return it for a replacement or a refund. I send in a request to return the item, and less than an hour later ebay closed the return less than an hour after the seller sent me an email stating, "it's my word against yours so we'll see". I've been with $hitbay now for 15 years, just got a 15 year badge, and have 719 reviews. I have to do a chargeback to get my money back and I don't know where to send this piece of junk I have but I can't use it (purchased another motherboard from Amazon, works perfectly with the same memory etc.. customer is happy even though I lost money on the deal), I can't even sell it, and if the board works fine, the seller could resell it. This isn't the first time lately ebay has cost me money, last time they gave a 200 credit back to the buyer when I never even received the board back than I sold to him, and when I reported that, nothing happened at all. So done with ebay, now, I won't offer any used $hit from this online junkyard to my clients, they have to buy new or I won't deal with it. Goodbye ebay and good riddance, ebay sucks too bad now. It's no fun anymore, it's a gamble every time you use, it, no matter what side you're on.
