Address Change
A buyer wants me to use a different address for shipping on an order. I can change everything in their address to what they want except the zip code. So I told them to change their address with Ebay. They did and only the old one shows up on my end. Probably because that was the current address yesterday when the bought. Has anyone got a solution without sitting on the phone with the Ebay gods?

·6 months agoCancel the order as a problem with the address.
Relist and buyer can buy again using the correct address.

·6 months agoOnly do that if the message is really from your buyer's ID and not from a scammer (different ID) who's trying to get your item.

·6 months agoSince opening my current account in 2013, I have experienced this situation on 3 occasions, with the last being 01/26. I did as Ken mentioned and all of the alleged buyers disappeared. My position is that if correcting an address for not only a purchase from me, but also going forward is too much trouble, their desire was nonexistent.

·6 months agoNever change the address from the one shown on the order (that does not have to be an address registered to the buyer's account, they can input any address at checkout, but you must ship to whatever address is provided to you by eBay and no other address).
If you got a message from a user asking you to change the shipping address for a recent sale, FIRST check that the message actually came from your buyer. If it is from a different user account, report the message and ignore it, and ship to the address on the order.
If it is from your buyer, let them know you can cancel the order and let them repurchase the item with the correct address.

·6 months agoChanging the delivery address only works going forward...... so it doesn't change it for an item already purchased.
To protect yourself, need to cancel the sale (because of address) and have the buyer buy and change the address (if then necessary) when they pay.
