Active Listings Have Disappeared

There is no resolution mentioned in the discussion, leaving the issue about the missing active listings unresolved.
For personal reasons I have not acquired more stock or listed items in quite a while. I periodically go through and create sales events to show proof of life. A couple of days ago I was going to put a particular item on sale and it was not listed. I don't know how long that has been the case and an inventory will have to be done to see if there are more. These items have been active for years so there's no reason they shouldn't still be listed. I haven't contacted customer service and probably won't unless this is a larger issue than I expect. Mostly just wondering if others have experienced this and found an answer to why it happened.

·4 months ago@regeni71 Most of your photos are fine, but there's a series where you're listing switches and the like that have too large of a background - they need to be cropped so the actual item is clearly visible when a shopper browses through lots of listings.
Many sellers make the mistake of cropping in too close which is just as bad, so just leave a little background when you crop.

·4 months ago@regeni71 I have listings that are periodically dropped. I don't advocate 'set it and forget it' for selling here and tend to churn my stuff every 60 days - it's how I find missing listings.

·4 months agoeBay does sometimes remove items that have been listed for a long time. You might also want to go through your listings and update prices if you have not done so recently. There have been several shipping cost increases, and you might be selling at a loss on some items with free shipping.
Might think about combining similar item and sell as a lot instead of individually. Might clear out some of your stagnate stock.

·4 months agoLong tail items -
Not sure how to help you with this - you sold one item on March 5th - aside from that, there are no ended items that I can see from my end -
Have you considered ending your listings and selling similar from those ended items to give them a refresh and boost - especially if they have been listed for years?
Maybe others have an idea where your item went but a good inventory view and refresh can't hurt. Maybe crop the photos down some too.

OP4 months agoI didn't worry too much about items that have rolled over for a long time unless they got zero traction. I saw it as the nature of these types of items. However, sales have declined so drastically in the last year or so, it will probably require some extra effort to change that. The subject item is actually a circuit breaker and several have sold over the years. I have several more, in addition to others of the same brand but different amperage. Those listings are gone, as well. I haven't received any kind of notification regarding a removal.
If I could trouble you once more, can you explain what you mean by the photos? I understand cropping, of course, and all photos go through a basic editing process before I post them but, I have been unaware until now that something may not be up to snuff with them. Thank you for your help.

·4 months agoWell...your items are just sitting in the center of a sea of background.
I know items like this sell more based on specifics than appearance but trimming your photos in closer to the object for sale is more pleasing for the buyer.
Things may have changed as far as listing requirements as well, which are constantly being updated.
Ensure your item Specifics, including country of origin, are as complete as possible.
