Hey All
Ebay decided to put a restriction on my account because sales volume jumped up ( I sell moto parts ,spring ) )
They wanted me to prove delivery for all the last months sales .
They all but a couple show delivered and the that ones that dont, show tracking and a problem at the delivery end (no apt # etc)
Currently they are holding over $36k for this one missing apartment # .
They suggested I refund it but that's not going to happen. I shipped to the provided address.
It is not possible to contact the restriction dept. either !
The restriction also limited my access to labels too making it difficult to process orders I had to sign up for ShipStation
Any body had this experience? Do I need to get a lawyer involved?
Customer Service is worthless and give off the attitude I did something immoral.
They was no phone call or request for information either .I had to call to find out what the issue was and they have never said exactly what the problem was .

And this is the hill......
Okay- you could point out that an incomplete address is Undeliverable and eBay's policy on Undeliverables is that the seller is not required to refund a single penny.
https://www.ebay.com/help/policies/ebay-money-back-guarantee-policy/ebay-money-back-guarantee-policy?id=4210#specialcoverage-inr
And that you are willing to refund when the shipper returns the Undeliverable package to you, although eBays' policy does not require this.
But between $30 and $36,000, I might have second thoughts.
BTW- did either customer open a Claim about the delayed deliveries?

If a package has movement, a seller can procrastinate, for a while.
If not, issue the refund and pray for eventual delivery. eBay began reimbursing sellers months ago for labels purchased through eBay.
We don't have enough facts to support a $36K payment hold. Something else is going on.

OP4 months agoThanks for the input
Of the 650+ items shipped 2 are not showing delivered (99.7 percent delivered )
One is on boat to Hawaii after taking a tour around the USA courtesy of the USPS
The other is stuck in Stockton CA because buyers address is incomplete.
Neither of these items is more that $100 total and they are currently holding $36000+
I have traded for over 25 years and my sales are similar year to year .
Ebay has put a non working AI program to work and does not know how to override it.
No human would even consider allowing what the program is doing to another human.
I can understand their position about fraud but there is zero evidence of it on my account & I have asked them to provide it if there is. They have declined.
Cheers

·4 months agoYou can either do what Ebay suggests or not. Ebay will hold your funds as long as they choose, and you have little recourse under contract law. Read the agreement or better yet, pay your lawyer to read the agreement.

OP4 months agoI have done everything they suggested .I am sure it will time out but there is clearly something wrong in their system.
Thanks for the input

Please be precise here. How many items did not fully deliver?
With all the seller fraud that happens on the platform shipping items to similar addresses to scam buyers, you might have triggered a threshold and eBay is holding funds to ensure you aren't trying to do the same. That is what this sounds like. Please note, I'm not saying you were. But as this system has a lot of automated parts, it might have triggered the block.
That's why they may have requested proof of delivery of items sold in a time frame. Not sure what else to do, except to deal with those orders that got reported for INR and take care of the customer in some fashion. To do otherwise may cause further restrictions going forward.
At some point they should release the funds, but I highly suggest you figure out what the delivery problems were and try to fix them if at all possible. Good luck.

·4 months ago@motorecykle Sellers are responsible for their orders getting to the buyer, including a delivery scan. If there was an issue and the order could not be delivered due to a problem with the buyer's address, the tracking will indicate that and the package should be returned to you by the carrier.
Have you contacted the carrier to see what happened to the package?
You won't be able to stop eBay from taking funds from your account, so you may not refund but that doesn't mean eBay won't. The buyer could also file a chargeback.

OP4 months agoIts called a Bailment and each party has to complete their "specific performance ".
I have to provide part shown to address provided.
Buyer has the pay and provide deliverable address.
Ebay collects money and distributes it after taking their contracted fee
Ebay and buyer are not completing their "specific performance" and thus in breach of the bailment.
Holding $35000 for a $30 part is not reasonable .
